ViperACR should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Rules For FIA GT

Does anyone know what are the rules the cars have to follow in FIA GT racing. How much weight, how big can the engines be, What about turbo cars like the porshes. Which teams have the factory behind them.

Thanks

The sporting a and technical regs can be downloaded from the FIA site in pdf format.

As far as I know, 'factory' teams are banned in the FIA series (or certainly discouraged), and haven't been around in any form since the ORECA Vipers withdrew. There are, however, rumours of an arm's-length factory effort by Maserati in 2004 or 2005.

Yes factory teams are banned (apart from Lister for some bizzare reason.) The cars also do not run to the same air restricotors that the ALMS cars run to for the 2003 season. The FIA SCC has changed to those rules though.

They are also talking about factory teams being allowed to enter in 2004, all depends if there is enough interst. No point in having just 1 factory team as it would kill the class (like corvette have in GTS) but works teams ie Prodrive are allowed to enter the series.

Factory teams hasn´t banned (I was banned from another forum ) cause Lister is there Trade in ya history for FIA-GT. They fix the need, develop the taste for factory teams.

There be no shelter here, the frontline is everywhere. Do you know more than me? are they think to enter factory teams?
