It is reported on Daily F1 that Mika suffered a "mild" concussion in the accident allegedly caused by a suspension failure. Given the severity of his injuries in Adelaide in 1995 and the suspected neurological damage he may have suffered, I have to believe that this incident will serve as an unpleasent reminder that life has more to offer than impaired brain function. Repetative brain injuries, (particularly in the wake of the serious damage done in '95) become increasingly severe. I have a vague inkling that Alex Wurz just got a little closer to another race drive.

The Lindros family could sure tell him that. (for those outside Canada and the US, Brett and probably Eric Lindros are two hockey players whose careers were cut very short by repeated concussions).
Villeneuve is said to have been deeply affected by the accident as is in hospital to after his accident with some sort of back injuries. I wished them both a speedy recovery. |
