2003 Highs and lows
What a season! Lets face it after the snoozfest we called 2002, 2003 had to be better, but wow! I'm spending this summer re-watching the races and we had some exciting races in 2003.
What were your highs and lows? - The Kimi and MS wheel to wheel in Melbourne was a great preview - Michaels Flaming Ferrari at the A1 ring - Webbers brilliant drive from the back (with an additional BS drive through penalty) - Brazil, dont need to say much else but the race nobody wanted to win - Monty's great move on MS at Nurburgring - The nailbiting finish at Japan (well it was for us Ferrari fans) - Silverstone's passing and the lunatic (and how was RB's move on Kimi?) - Indy and the rain (and the 7+ different leaders) - The Minardi pole lap in France ![]() - The opening lap at Monza (take that V! ![]() - The brave Schumacher brothers and the opening laps at San Marino (after their mothers death) - The soap opera that was the MP4-18 - The team oweners bun fight at Canada (wish I could have seen that) - Alonso's first win (and the lapping of a 6 times WDC) - Alonso brake testing DC - Button and Webbers closing laps at Hockenhiem - The Pizzonia mess - The Williams comeback (that car was a dog at the start of the season) - The Ferrari comeback (how many including me wrote Michaels championship off?) I'm sure there are more, but that was enough to impress me. Bring on the same in 2004! |

HIGHS:
Raikkonen and Montoya both going wheel to wheel with Schumacher at Melbourne and Nurburging respectively Montoya winning at Monaco Alonso winning at Hungary Fisichella's engine blowing up just after taking the win at Brazil ![]() Michael Schumacher proving he's still the best driver on the grid. I hope he stays so we can see him duking it out with the youngsters. We missed that when Senna died ![]() Button kicking Villeneuve's arse (Even Irvine was never stupid enough to call his teammate a boy band and then get blown away by him. Why Villeneuve didn't quit mid season I don't know. Didn't he learn anything from Damon Hill's 1999 season?) LOWS: None really (Although I expect just about everyone on this forum to put in Ferrari exposing Michelin's cheating ![]() |

Pretty much whats already been said, just like to add, Montoya's win at Hockenheim, the most dominant win of the season, and that was with only 90% power.
Lows....Having to watch it on ITV, bring back Sky Digi + for 2004. |

Highs:
Indy - H2F's last podium; First time Webber, Button and Sauber had led. First victories for Fisi and Alonso. Unpredictable championship. Passing! Schumachers at Imola. The WAY in which H2F retired. Lows: The mess around Jaguar's second seat. Jacques fading. H2F retiring. The usual *****ing between the teams. |
