Pat Doran's Fiesta Supercar
Just read the report on Pat Doran's new Fiesta plan. Fantastic looking car with Ford backing, Julian Godfrey engine, fantastic that Pat will stay in the Sport in a full Euro spec car, the futures looking brighter. Fastest Fiesta since Keith Ripp.

yeh, plans for a fiesta look good. Suppose to be much cheeper to build and run than any current supercar. Good News for prospective supcarcar drivers...

I suppose it had to come, but I just love seeing that RS200 in action, never got the same buzz watching Doran or Palmer in those Escort Cossies as I did when they run the RS200`s and 6R4`s.

Doran needs a new car to stay competitive but losing the RS200 is a big loss for the sport - that car has so much presence both on and off track. No other car attracts the same level of attention, it's a shame to see it going but I guess it is getting on a bit (20 years old???).
If it is cheaper to build than the current crop of supercars it may encourage more people to build cars for the class - which can only be a good thing. |

Ah well, at least we can enjoy her presence for one more year. Hopefully Pat doesn't have to rob everything off it for the Fiesta. It would be nice to keep her the way she is...

Maybe Pat could be persuaded to do some demo laps in the RS200 when he gets the Fiesta running - might tempt some of the other 'original' Group B Rally cars into joining him. I remember seeing them all at a Historic rally superspecial at Silverstone - bliss!

I think Pat is probably too attached to the car to start taking donor parts from it, albeit there is some great and NEW technology under the skin.
I wonder if he'd take my Mrs in PX for it??.............. |

How do i get my hands on this rally cross world magazine, i have seen a photocopied picture of the car but im thinking ill buy the mag and get all the news too????
