OK - if you see CAMS as one (do you honestly believe they could manage a circuit????) - that would make 3 - AVESCO, PROCAR and CAMS

No - as I understood, it was to be held in early (mid??) April.
I did hear on the grapevine today, however, that the Victorian State Council recently voted AGAINST the new CAMS Track Licences because, the wording as put to me, 'the new licences 'lacked transparency'. NSW apparently took the view that 'no ones told us about it ...' |

What does 'lacked trasparency' mean? Does it mean CAMS was trying to pull a swifty?

Has CAMS finally convinced Lloyds of London that its risk management processes are as good as those of AASA? Does it offer as good a deal on insurance/licence fees these days, as AASA does?

Memberss of this forum might be interested in the following which appeared on the Procar web site:
Noticed the following on the CAMS web site: 'One of Australia’s best known motor sport administrators, John Large, has been appointed Deputy President of the newly-created FIA Institute of Motorsport Safety by the world governing motor sport body, the FIA.' By the time the standardisation process is over Australia should be world leader in Motor Racing safety. John Large might actually become competent if he is involved! |

Was the position of Deputy President of the FIA Institute of Motor Sport Safety ever advertised in the press, international or Australian? How do you get a job like that?

Jeez, some of the CAMS bashing that goes on here fair dinkum gives me the irrits , and I do not work for, never have worked for CAMS, nor do I have any association with someone that does.
Next we'll be told that CAMS is the only organisation in the world that has ever filled a position without advertising it. perhaps some people would rather $50K or so was spent on an international recruitment search??? |

I can think of about 1000 people with qualifications as Occupational Hygienist who would be eminently suited to the position. What are John Large's formal qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety?

Spook, I'll forgive your comment. Anyone who believes we live in a meritocracy must be 'hearing voices'! I just can't believe this sort of nepotism could be so blatant!
