Very impressive with over 2 months to go.

Have found my favourite allready. #76 VW Caddy Van.
Have they raced before?

Given that novice drivers are now not allowed (or at least will find it very awkward) I don't think they'll be back any time soon

Are they still classed as novices now that they've already raced in a 24hr at Silverstone?

Do the reg's not just say EERC reserve the right to reject the entry of anyone who does not have 6 sig's. Does not say they cannot, but does give EERC an option on some of these, ahem "loads of money, not a load of talent" drivers we see with crazy cars and novice crosses.

Given what they done for the event last year I think they would be hard pushed to say no if an entry was to be submitted.

Anyway only 73 days to go until we find out

Sometimes the entry list is there and sometimes it's not. I was trying to find out if the Caddy is the one that runs in the VW race at F3/GT meetings.

Aha, thought I have seen the Caddy before.

Britcar entry is for "Racing Line Ltd #76 VW Caddy Van", which is the same as the F3/GT entry driven by Peter Wyhinny.

Maybe you can ask him to put some pies in the back, and drop them off at Brooklands?

And do we get informed if we're on the list after we've volunteered, because I've not actually had any formal Yes or No. I've booked the time off work so would be nice to definitely do it.

I'll try and be patient and see what knowledge arises. I've not done the 24 before so I'm keen to be in on it.

Tickets are normally sent out 7 to 14 days before, just like any other event. If you have volunteered then you WILL be sent tickets, there are never enough marshals for this meeting. If you need to check if you are on "the list" then PM on email Alan Tyson (PieMan on here).

Finally got round to sending off the measurements! A van in the 24 hours? I dread to think...

On the subject of the Top Gear entry last year. I actually reported it (with James May at the wheel) for spining and continuing whilst under the safety car!

Thanks Gerry. I know it'll all be sorted ok, I was just checking to see what the score was. I'm looking forward to it.

Sorry if anybody is unsure. I do try to process and acknowledge all volunteering as it comes in but with a lot of 'new' people this year it has been difficult keeping up. You're all very welcome but the 24 Hours is only one of the Midland Centre's many meetings.

Tonight I'm ploughing through an updated list (three dozen names) from the far north. With two other major meetings taking place down south the same weekend as the 24 Hours this support from other parts of the country is much appreciated.

I hope to get messages out to everybody I have an email address for by the end of the week so that you know for sure (I'll post on here when I've sent them). That'll only be to those who have contacted me direct or volunteered via Paul Wilson (Knockhill & Croft) or Julian Floyd (www.marshals.org.uk) - I haven't seen any of the names sent to Pam at Silverstone yet (when I enquired a couple of weeks ago I was told that they were a bit busy getting ready for some other event).

I'll have to try and recall which method I used for volunteering - I'll have to check my email and PDF of volunteering forms/emails to double-check.

Can't they do Probans in a Lycra type material so that I can just guess my sizes - it would probably improve our performance as much as it does for the Olympic athletes
