The basic story is that Opel have withdrawn (which was known a year ago), Mercedes have commited for next year but as yet Audi haven't (and the original entry deadline has passed). With Opel leaving and not releasing their cars for privateers Audi will need to run more cars than this season - if Audi decide against it then that'll leave Mercedes on their own and that'll effectively kill the DTM off. An Audi decision is expected soon but I'd expect them to commit to the series.

And since this thread has trailed far off of the 'Donington wannabe' it originally was, I'm going to close it.
If you want to talk about the possible Audi withdrawal, collapse and destruction of the DTM, best use the 2006 DTM rumours thread (as that's all they are at the moment  )As for DTM being at Donington, as mentioned - Brands is a maybe, we're not expecting a Donington visit next year if the series is still going. I'm sure we'll pack out Brands of course to support Gary & Jamie won't we! |
