You are right vila real is best circuit ever specially when with joker laps you make the round on the left rather than on right!! OMG it's so exciting to see a car doing the round on the left while other do on the right side... Or even better when at the starts about 20 cars crashed due to lack of space and have been destroyed! |

I really can't understand why they insist on racing in countries like Marocco, Malaysia, Korea. And two races in China? Macau would be enough. These tracks are boring and no one watches races there, I don't get it. It'd be way better to have races mostly in Europe on more interesting tracks. 2020 calendar in DTM looks way better for a touring car series.

It's all down to how they can fund the races. WTCC doesn't bring in crowds anywhere nears as large as other international championships, so most of the rounds are reliant on funding from the local government, an ASN or a circuit, a private promoter or sharing track time with another major series to share the expense.

With Google's help I found that 198,000 spectators for the three days was the Vila Real's official figure. Even if they are only a "few thousands" as some say, it is much more than you can gather in any Italian circuit.
They go where the money is. If Vila Real, Morocco or Malaysia are ready to pay the bill, Ribeiro and the gang won't say no. Money talks, bullshit walks... |

The reason is very simple,” team boss Vincent Vosse told dhnet.be. “After the announcement of VW to focus on the electric future, another brand of the group [Audi] has decided not to be involved in this category. |

So shall we consider the 4 Audi's drivers and the 4 VW's drivers without a car for 2020 or they will keep driving for audi and vw but just with different teams.
If those 8 drivers should look for a new team and car it would become interesting with which car top drivers like huff, vernay and kristofferson will race next year. If we exclude Hyundai and Link & Co. the others brands (Cupra, Honda and Alfa Romeo) IMHO should think of them to have stonger team. - Cupra has only Azcona as top drivers. The 3 others have shown a low performance. Haglof (24th in standing) races in wtcr just cause he is owner of the team PWR, Coronel (21th) races in wtcr just cause he is full of money/sponsor and Panis (18th) prooved to have the same "talent" of his fater... - Alfa Romeo has Ma (15th) and Ceccon (16th) that are both good drivers but with a few expriences in touring car so in case Alfa/Team Mulsanne should decide to increase their cars it could consider them. - Honda is the brand with less problems considering that has already 2 top drivers like Girolami and Guerrieri but Monteiro (20th) is not anymore the good driver that he was and Tassi (23th) doesn't seem such a great driver... |

teams wont race vw or audi in wtcr because those cars will have no development or support and just become more uncompetitive

This is why I'm not sure that there won't be any team who will use audi or vw next year and moreover we have to remember the rule of this year that doesn't allow to each brand to have more than 4 cars. If it won't change that rule it will be impossible to SLR team who is running with VW and to Cometoyou who is running with AUDI to switch to other cars (for example Hyundai or Link or Honda). |

why would a team spend millions to race an already out of date car with no chance of going forward? |

Anyway if it should be like you said it will be hard to replace 8 cars considering that MG (with MG6) and MAZDA (with MAZDA 3) have not any plan to enter in wtcr atleast in 2020. The only solution would be to remove the block of 4 cars for each brand. |

For example, 3 "works" Hyundais like we have this season plus 2 from a smaller team like Target. You could have a grid of 5 CUPRAs, 5 Hyundais, 5 Hondas, 4 Alfa, 3 Lynk, 2 Peugeot, 2 Opels or something like that. |

The last paragraph of which stated "In Addition to the racecar you are inimitably familiar with, the experience you have gained, our stable spare parts prices the known operating cost, plus our stable customer support structures will continue to be stable factors for you in the 2020 season, The current Audi RS3 LMS will be the touring car we will rely on in the 2020 season, we will inform you about possible new developments in due time". Regardless of RS3's presenceon the grid next year, this is becoming the end of Audi brand in TCR category.
Shedden is out, I'm pretty sure, I wonder what Vernay is up to. He's been sort of mainstay of TCR racing. |

Probably means Vervisch is out too, being an Audi factory / customer driver.
Kristoffersson seems to be involved with VW too but not sure whether it's anything to stop him changing cars. After a lacklustre season Bennani's probably going to struggle for a seat, not sure about Huff or SLR. |

Of course have Audi themselves announced they are leaving TCR. Audi have just said they are not going to build a new car for next year. While WRT have decided to end their TCR programme nothing stopping Audi from supporting another team running the current RS3 LMS.

I’ve seen fan footage from Vila Real and that’s one hell of a crowd for a touring car race these days. Most tracks would kill for a crowd like that. Shame to see Audi and WRT pull the plug if only because it adds another question as to where Flash will be next year. |

How likely is it that some private team like Reiter make VW or Audi for TCR?
Would VAG allow that? |
