I do not see this happening. Ford first closes the Jaguar factory in Coventry (firing more than 1000 people) and sells the Jaguar F1 team. In the mean time other autosport project get budget cuts (e.g. Ford WRC team). And now they decide to enter DTM, which is rather expensive?

And Cadillac is GM-owned, so would not go head to head with Opel.
The new manufacturer is Rover. |

I merged this thread with the Jaguar speculations to join. We can't have three different threads about the DTM speculations of next year.

This is remarkable: the cost of development will be covered by the DTM organising body ITR. Merc is desperate to keep its series going...

Secondly: The ITR has not funded anything. The only thing they did is helping to find sponsors who would help to fund the project. |

So Audi and Opel are okay with the fact they're actually funding a 4th manufacturer for '05?

Holzer is out of DTM, all Opels will be run by Phoenix and OPC. Team Holzer will do Euro f3, German F3 and FBMW instead.

Did Holzer get dropped by Opel? Not enough funding?

apparently the contract ran out at the end of 2004, still suprising since the whole OPC center is located at Holzer
