No, but it means that his spinal cord wasn't injured and that his brain is responding to stimuli.

The docs usually bring people out of induced comas very, very slowly.

I think that I heard Servia mention something about going to see him after the race yesterday. That's got to be good news.

A lot of people had the kiki shirts too, but I don't know who was selling them.

The speedgear guy when asked about it, said "Who's Kiki"?

Kiki was his child hood nick name. The push please bit is what his Toyota team said each race to him in F1.

Another update from RuSport

Cristiano is now out of intensive care. Though he's still not completely conscious, responsive or able to speak - his condition has improved significantly.

http://www.rusport.com/news/read/cri...intensive-care

Easily this must have been one of the nastiest accidents Champcar racing has seen for some time.

His progress has been slower than I expected, but fortunately he does seem to be improving. Seemd like it's too early to think about him racing again though.

He's now in a regular hospital room, which can only be good.

However, it looks as if there's still an awfully long way to go...

Cristiano, I know you're not reading this, but I think of you every single day. You are a good man, and were dealt a hand which you did not deserve. Godspeed, my friend.

Heard on Wind Tunnel last night that Christiano spoke, complaining when a catheter was removed. Always a good sign when the patient has an attitude. Praying for you bud!

I'd complain too. It hurts.

This is most excellent news though.

Robin Miller said it was when they removed the trache, not a catheter. But it is definitely very good news.
