one C6.R has already gone to PSI, so theres only one more left. Chances are, that one would go to GLPK, but we could be in store for another surprise i guess

Besides the fact that we (probably) know where one C6.R is going already, I'm not sure this totally applies because I don't think Pratt & Miller are really in the business of supporting customer teams, and the decisions as to where the cars go are made on the basis of return on asset liquidation by bean-counters, not based on the notions of a solid well-distributed customer race program.

I wish there was such a mentality at GM, but we can imagine what pressures they are under to generate positive returns given the fiscal state of the company.

I still have to see that PSI story. I believe that when I see it confirmed by P&M, who sais that isn't about having done a bid for it as well?

Doesn't GM/Pratt and Miller get more income by making more cars available for sale? The more cars you sell the more money you make.

No wonder GM is near bankruptcy.

Phoenix -for my inforamtion- is out of the race for C6.R. The Ciorvette deal was only a rumour because the Phoenix guys visited one of the "middle east" races.

lmsr.net reports that RacingBox will race their MC12 in 5 FIA GT rounds (Silverstone, Brno, Oschersleben, Magny Cours, Imola). They will also run some Viper in GT3.

PSI bought the old Corvette C5R from Pacific Coast, they will enter it in the LMES. Seems quite strange to me that they bought a C6R as well.

What will GL-PK do . Will they run a C5R and a C6R as well ? Seems a rather large spares package to invest in and cart around . I just hope that either team dont over stretch themselves with that plan . Or possibily they will use one car for the Fia GT and the other for the Lmes and Le Mans ?

I would wait to see if GL-PK actually do get the second C6.R before entering into such a discussion. The more relevant discussion would be how PSI Experience would do the above in the LMES. Although, PSI could very well run one car in the LMES (for sure the C5-R), and one in the FIA-GT... we have to wait on official word from the team.

If they get a C6.R the C5-R will probably be sold, as there are a lot of interested parties for it and they can get a good price for it.

Besides that, ceramic brakes are now allowed in the Belcar. The original plan was to have a corvette for the FIA GT and one for the Belcar, but because the reglements are pretty much the same now they only need one car. So a C6R would be the most logical option then.

From the article, my best guess is that we will see the GL-PK Corvette C5-R in somebody else's hands in 2006.

Add 1 2006 spec Lamborghini Murcielago to the FIA GT entry, at least for the European rounds. And for the LMES.

Quote:

Source:www.fiagt.com

German team B-Racing RS Line is planning to enter a 2006 version of the Lamborghini Murciélago in the European rounds of the FIA GT Championship. “Thanks to the engagement of main sponsor Neue Medien Münnich - all.inkl.com - the team will be able to raise to teh top class of sportscar endurance racing,” the team explained.
German-based Reiter Engineering will be supplying the car for the team, which also plans to enter the Le Mans Series, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Logistics will be provided by RS-Line Race Support.
The first driver for the team has been named as Austro-American Norbert Walchhofer. The multiple Ferrari-Challenge Champion will integrate his sponsorship package into the new team.
The first test with the Lamborghini Murciélago took place at the Adria Raceway in Italy, on December 20th.
More good news for the FIA GT championship.

Great news!

I've still yet to personally witness the Murcielago race, and a new team stepping up is promising for the series.

What will a 2006 version be? Will this have different specs, or is it just to make it sound more interesting?
