You tease. I'm certain this will be moved to PF or somewhere else appropriate.

well, given martin would surely know if ben edwards got the nod that aint good as it means neither martin nor ben have the job. assume it rules out anyone else from eurosport / motors tv etc pool of people, then who does it leave?
this is a little concerning. the martin or ben + martin brundle combo seems destined to never be... |

Yeah Martin, I´ve noticed your comment earlier!
Sad news, as I think you would hev done a smashing job. As it seems that Ben has not been offered the job either, I am at a loss. |

In DK we have an endless line of broadcast commentators who havent got a clue about racing. Instead they also have to cover all sorts of other sports, so one day a guy commentates footie, the next day racing - it is horrible. Especially when some of us specialize in racing, but still they keep using the noobs. And the line is endless, I dont know where they find them? Great job covering LMS Martin! |

I thought you were going to give us some inside information Martin
Had you been in contact with the BBC, or visa versa? |

I think they should have an anchorman and guest - when Damon Hill was doing it the other day I thought it was very good. No one is ever going to get near James Hunt in terms of great commentating sadly....

How do i apply ?
Brundle did well with his gridwalk today. They really need to make sure they bring him over |

Apparently Brundle's on massive money which I understand is precluding his joining the Beeb.

I mean an ITV contract for next year. Surely he wouldn't have one of those as there's no F1 to show..?

With ITV pulling the plug, there is every chance he'll be looking for compensation from ITV or North One (the production company for ITV) whomever he is contracted with. If he was looking to join the BBC, I can't see him lowering his price for the same role...and why should he? Last edited by ScotsBrutesFan; 26 Aug 2008 at 12:34. |

Brundle would almost certainly have been on a rolling one-year contract.
...and he was on £60,000 per weekend. I'm pretty certain the BBC will be paying him a similar or greater amount. |

I read somewhere that the BBC had offered Brundel £1M to do the Steve Rider anchor role that . Probably only a rumour though.

I thought Hammond from Top Gear had been named as one of the commentators?
