Skaife wants more excitement
it seems even Skaifey is getting bored with V8's (must be hard doing all that winning) but in an article in todays paper he claims that the pit window should be shortened to try and spice things up a bit more for the fans.
Now to me I dont see how shortening the pit window would help improve anything ??? I mean all it would do is create more congestion in the pitlane with more cars coming in at one time. I just dont see what doing this would do to improve anything , can anyone explain this to me ? |

Nope, no explanation from me, I don't think it would improve the racing at all, and it would do exactly what you said, create more congestion in the pit lane.
But with the pit lane times as they are it creates more excitemne than anything, because it allows more time for cars to go off, including skaife, that'll give him a bit of excitement, but also rain could come into play, so if he thinks the pit lane needs to be shortened to make it more exciting, maybe he should think on it a little more! lv Ebony x |

Why shorten pit window times?
They already have to pit between laps 2 and 4 anyway - errrr - sorry - between laps 2 and 4 to have any chance! |

make the TWR cars run with the headlights OFF. Has anyone else notice how much quicker they go with the headlights on. Must be the way the traction control is turned on and off

How about you pit when you need tyres (and don't pit if you don't need them.
Get rid of this pretend **** and stop the pit stops. |

The pit stops were introduced to stop HRT when it was derived that reverse grid races aren't fair. However it didn't work. Perhaps if we gave the cars 20L fuel tanks, there would be a lot more strategy played out in the races

If he wants more excitement, he should just leave. I know it would be more exciting for the rest of us

Take a leaf out of Rallyings book, make the driver get out at the pit stop and change all 4 tyres by himself.

If you have a race 2 and a half fuel tanks long, you'll find real strategy taking place in regards to pit stops. While the stops are just a compulsory thing that isn't required outside of the rulebook, they'll continue to be a waste.
And colinbond, turning your headlights on does make you go quicker. I've tested the theory in hillclimbs and you'd be surprised the difference it makes |

You shouldn't be tailgating in a hillclimb!
