Odd that Bratislava's Saleen is listed as G2, yet Rbimmo's Saleen is GT1...
Will be nice to see the Pagani though! |

very probably the ARC car is in G2 for the different rear wing... i think it's still a 04-spec "wide" wing...

It will be interesting to see, how the Pagani Zonda GT1 car will do. Does anyone know if this car is a one-off made by some team, or a factory effort?

The Pagani is made by Carsport Holland / Hezemans.

In Sebring the car was raced under the Carsport America banner ... in Le Mans the car was run under Carsport Modena. If I'm correct, it was a joint-venture between GLPK Racing and Carsport Holland, who later ran the Corvette C5-R (2005), and Corvette C6.R (2006) in the FIA GT Championship (as GLPK Carsport).

Anyway, we have a GT1 Saleen at last. HOORAY!
However, it's an ex Konrad car 'upgraded' whatever that means, so I'd guess it won't be as useful as a Zakspeed or ORECA car even with Tomas Enge at the wheel? |

That depend's on exactly what "upgraded" mean's ..... any idea what mod's ?
I seem to remember that Konrad's big issue's were mostly gearbox related ? |

The car is being run by Konrad, but looking at the sponsor mockup of the car, the colour scheme looks remarkably similar to that run by Zakspeed last year. Could the chassis be the ex-Zakspeed car?

I've always been a bit mystified by the pace of Saleens, which has always seemed to me to be all over the place. The brand new cars seem really sorted, especially the ORECA developed cars, which are visibly better put together than previous Saleens.
I'm not sure the old Konrad cars can cut it any more, they were really quick in FIA GT back in 2003 and 2004, but that was with the larger rear wing, which worked very well with the Saleen. Since then they've struggled everywhere they have raced. |

Engine builder and specifics of engines have changed a lot over the years and between teams running Saleens. The two ACEMCO chassis actually have different motors (EPP and Hutter) in their for-sale state. That cannot be underestimated when looking at the inconsistency of the car's performance. Compare this to the state of motive affairs for, say, Corvette (all Katech).

And they did sponsor the Barwell Aston when it ran in China. They also support Damax's Ascaris among others...trying to think which cars I've seen the logo on.

The Enge/Kofler/Svepes Saleen is 4.9 sec off the pace in first practice, still placed in 12th tho.

Didn't see any times for the Pagoni Zonda in either practice or Qual. Did they pull out?

Looks to be the case, yes.
The GT1 Saleen 14th, just barely ahead of GT2 pack, which are running seriously fast this year, only 5 sec off the GT1 pole, and 2 sec faster then last years GT2 pole. This on a lap that is around 2 min, those GT2 cars are seriously fast. GT3 pole was 2.5 sec slower then GT2 pole, this time, showing GT3 still cant match GT2 quite yet. But, it should be said, this track should suit the Ferraris like a glove, which it does, the Porsches are basicly spectators in this one... |

The Rock Media Motors Pagani pulling out of an event? Well colour me shocked...
Perfect realization of expected strength from the Ferrari brigade. Predictable disappointment from the the aging and underwhelming Konrad Saleen. |
