BARC Winter Series, Croft, 10th November 2007
Just a bit of info needed from regulars at Croft
I've been to Croft as a spectator for the BTCC and I seem to remember going past a signposted entry to croft (small lane) and been ushered towards a main road and then back in again into the big field. Is the permanently signed route the normal way into the circuit?, where do you park when you get in there?, I can vaguely remember that either assembly or parc ferme (or both) is near the grandstand, but that’s about it. Also the timetable states that there is a Marshals trackday session at the end of the day, do you need an helmet for this (like the MSV ones Any advice from Croft regulars welcome...... |

Hi Darren, as a croft regular i can give the following advice!!
You are correct about the Signposted route, that is the way to get into Croft, once you are through the gate, marshals parking is in the assembly area on the left. You cant miss it, it is a fenced area with a portacabin! As for the track day, i don't know the answer to that, but will ask around the other members of the club and see if i can get an answer for you. Hope this helps Sara |

Tis me again!!
Speaking to one of the club committee members, you will indeed require a helmet for the Track Day Hope to see you there Sara |

hi guys dont quote me on this but the circuit may have helmets that could be borrowed. Im trying to find out more details but my tame racing driver seems to be taking up all my time
I want to bring the 924 out to play but shes not having any of it, seems to like the warmth of her garage! Gillian sign on is 07.30hrs Also on friday night it is darlington and district club night, as well as my mum's 60th (most ppl know her as the terrier in assembly) so we will be down at the football club having a few drinks, anyone is welcome to join us! Why don't you ask Paul for a shot of his helmet as he'll be getting a nice new BTCC one from Santa this year. |

Helmet
Croft do have plenty of helmets for hire as they arrange plenty of trackdays throughout the year. If you look on their website under "Trackdays" it tells you that you can hire helmets. If you go to the main reception next to the signing on area they should be able to sort you one out.
However I have one helmet that I am quite willing to bring and lend to any marshall who wants to take part at the trackday. I will be there on Saturday 10 November. If anyone wants to borrow it, let me know and I will gladly bring it. You will be able to find me at the medical centre. Or ask for my wife, Dr Sarah Brennan. |

Hi Jonathan R,
Thanks for the information and the offer for the helmet. I would love to take part in the Croft trackday so would be very grateful if I could lend your helmet. I don`t mind using the croft helmets either as I will be in that area of the circuit at some point. Hopefully see you at the Medical Centre. Once again thanks for the offer (Appreciated!) Many Thanks Richard Bramhall |

I have asked the circuit and a reply from Dawn states "Participating marshals are required to wear helmets, and it would be helpful if they could bring their own purely for logistical reasons, although we do have some if someone does not own one."
Sorted. |

What a fantastic day, only three of us on Post 6, me the Obs and the fire truck! (I use the term truck in the very loosest sense).
A day of coincidences, Joe the Observer was my observer at Thruxton last month, what are the chances of that happening on two circuits so far apart with so many different posts to be allocated to. And John in the fire (pram ), despite living in North Yorkshire, his wife comes from the same village as me in South Yorkshire, 80 miles away! I had my first day flagging, which was great experience, battling to keep the green upright in the force 10 winds that seem to appear every green flag lap. The £2 I spent this week on a woolly hat was the best £2 I’ve spent in a long time. And then to top it all off, the clouds blew away and daylight (just) remained for us to have a play on track, my Diesel Astra even managed to overtake someone! Whoohooo! People were moaning about the queue at the food stand at lunch and the unavailability of free chips, but you have to put this in context guys, not many places give you free food, at Oulton you get a cooked breakfast and a drink for £3.50 from the restaurant, nothing for free!!! Great day and a big thanks to the circuit for letting us play on the track, commiserations to the guy who rolled his girlfriends Clio in the first Renault track session in the morning, or should that be ex-girlfriend now! |

I agree,
It was a cracking day for me too on Post 9. The rolled Clio ended up in the next field to us....... I still don`t know how he managed to do it......... Track day was fantastic and I would like to thank everbody for giving us the opportunity to have a go!!! That westfield was too quick for me Peug 207 though... He came past me and I thought I would follow him through the next few corners to look at his racing lines............. No chance... He just disappeared into the distance very quickly... Croft is a cracking circuit and I will defo be there for BTCC in 2008... Hope everybody else enjoyed it and will see you sometime next year. Rich |

Quite a good days racing considering there were only 2 formuli! Renaults with roofs and Renaults without Great way to end a season |
