Pity no Jaguars or Astons there today. There were 23 cars booked in but I heard 5 failed to show. Nice treat for us up here in Norfolk anyway. Bring back the Willhire 24 but have it for these cars!

Pie in the Sky , Andrew! Where were you? I got there about 10.00am and left at 2.45pm when the skies opened up for the second time. There didn't seem much motivation by anyone to go out on a wet track so I'd be interested to know if anyone actually did. Will put a few pics up later and try not to duplicate AK's!

Popped in for about an hour just before 12 as well, lovely sounds and smells of what I still think of a modern cars, but most are about 20 years old! Saw the Lola Judd in the garage and it was being warmed and prep'ed for the track only for the lunch break to stop it. |

Did they getting any running in the afternoon? Just as the lunchbreak was ending, we had a hailstorm that kept the cars firmly in the garages. At 2.45 with no engine sounds emitting from those garages, and as another downpour started, I left.

Looking at the pics, there seem to be some 'new' cars to the Group C racing series- any idea who was running what?

Hi Guys,
I spent most of the morning around the track, I will be posting some images on the Group C website, www.groupcracing.com. Happy to receive pictures from other photographers for the website so that we can create the best collection of images of these great cars. Thanks |

Thanks Andrew, yes it was a little easier. Shame about the weather, but we got some good pictures after the rain when we placed some of the cars for a static grid picture in the sunshine.

Wow, incredible cars. You guys were very fortunate to be there. Who has the Dunlop/Shell 962 ? Is it one of the original ones ?

Fantastic. If I wasn't tucked up in bed with a violent stomach bug, I'd have liked to have come.
Each of these cars is £ 250,000 at least, so a small fortune sitting in the pits. |

Monday Shoot
I was at Snetterton on Monday shooting for a Dutch client, so if anyone is interested an edit can be seen here
http://www.sportscarpros.com/galleri...on/default.htm Only one car ran after lunch.....a Nissan did one slow lap and then discretion became the better part of valour............a combination of hailstones and standing water meant that there was no more action. The Shell/Dunlop 962 is the real deal and is the second placed car from 1988. |

Are we sure Mike Wilds was driving the Shell car? I thought he was out in the pink Japanese one. Definitely saw him with his familiar yellow helmet on.

No when the monsoon/snow storm started it was tucked away safely in the pit alongside the RLR pink 962.........which Mike Wilds will be driving at the Le Mans' Legends race. |

Mike ran his last 24 Heures in 1988 driving a Nissan with Allan Grice and Win Percy. He finally registered a finish at Le Mans in 14th, first Japanese car home.
So getting a chance to try out the "Werks" 962 that should have won the race would have been irresistible.........he is a racer of the old school. |
