Time Attack Oulton Park 5th July

Does anyone have any details about marshalling for this event? It wasn't on the volunteering form??

It's probably not an MSA sanctioned event, although don't quote me on that!

Going off talk on A N Other forum - it sounds like its run like the practice/qualifying sessions of a normal race - the cars are circulating for 20 mins, trying to put in quick times.

Mainly aimed at jap. turbo nutter machines, boosted to within a inch of their lives.

and that the rounds are often held alongside tuning shows and drift competitions.

As its not an MSA event - marshals/rescue units/ambulance are probivided by the venue, like a trackday.

Speaking as a Jap Turbo Nutter machine owner nutter , this is well worth looking at if you like machines heavily tweaked. Some of these are super-quick with professional drivers running alongside the owner-drivers.

Have a look here; http://www.timeattack.co.uk/index.html

and for volunteering; http://tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=107390

I guess because more cars are on track there will be some possibility of having to pass other cars as well which is a no-no in sprinting

Most sprints have only 2 or 3 cars on track at any time and if a competitor catches an other he/ she will get a re run

It's worth watching, all the cars are highly modified.
Club class cars from 350 to 700ish bhp
Pro cars 600 to 900 bhp with current pro drivers Tom Ferrier,Guy Harrington.Duncan Tappy won the first round at Donnington, this weekend there is also a seperate class just for Mitsubishi Evo's.
Olly Clarke won the round at Knockhill with a low 52 sec lap.

What's the status of these events for insurance purposes?

Are marshals insured for any injuries received in case of an incident?

Are they paid as per a test day?

It's my local track so 'may' be interested to see something different - although the Irish are at Anglesey so there may be more 'incidents' there

I've done the same too and not heard (read) yet. I'll see what tomorrow brings before trying again. Be a shame not to marshal it.

Emailed him again today, no response, no tickets, nothing, kind of puts you off anything to do with msvr.

I'd have liked to have done this one. I've a definite interest in the series but looks like I'll be on t'other side of the fence this time. Shame, but I'm sure there must be a reason.

I have just emailed Phil.

Now have other plans for tomorrow.

I take it that I won't be expecting an envelope on my doormat when I get home tonight. Well, I may get a bill of some description instead.

Thanks for the offer of the ticket, unfortunately I can't go for the weekend and the 250 mile round trip is not cost effective (PETROL PRICES) for one day

My wife was speaking to someone at work yesterday who went. He said it was a really good day with some fantastic cars and a good crowd. Weather was good too, raining all the way there but cleared up for the rest of the day. As far as Marshals were concerned he said there were hardly any there, with just one on a post, which is hardly surprising due to the lack of tickets!!
