A couple of interesting little details from Sunday's run-offs.
Eynon Price tells me he had all sorts of rear suspension problems and was driving the car very gingerly all weekend. Making his show into the twelve pretty impressive. And just before the second runoff, Martin Groves spotted a minor engine bay fire in the Gould, and picked up a nasty burn on his forearm putting it out. He was wincing, and douscing it with a wet sponge right up to leaving his paddock bay. And yet he managed to gather up the concentration to take a British Championship win a few minutes later. Good show boys. |

I went down to watch practice on saturday, some spectacular driving in the dry.
Does anybody know where I can find the results from Sunday online? I've tried the Top12 website and TSL Timing but no joy. Lots of pics from Saturday practice are here: http://www.stevekilvington.fotopic.net if you want a look. cheers all Kilv |

Sunday's conditions were definitely worse!!!!!! Wet/Damp first runs and dry second runs.
Here's a few pictures I took from the cab of the breakdown unit:- http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...2&id=708211483 For a report and results, try http://www.gurstondown.org/latest.htm |

I for sure had a steep learning curve over the weekend after 9 + years driving a “lardy” saloon and then driving a single seater for the first time competitively since 1994/95 I’ve forgotten how precise you must be and had to relearn every thing again.
Even though I wasn’t any where near the midfield within the class (almost last) I still went home just as pleased with my result as I was when I first took a class win many moons ago. I must also say “Thank you” to all for being patient with me when I kept on stalling the engine. Should it be “L” or “P” plates next time? |
