[STCC] Round 4 - Gelleråsen/Karlskoga, 1st June 2008
Don't know if I have the rights to start such a topic, so correct me if I'm wrong . Round 4 is coming up this weekend.
-Volvo is aiming for top results after having led 40 of 99 laps driven in STCC races in '08 - more than any other manufacturer after just 3 rounds with their new C30. Source: www.stcc.se -Jan "Flash" Nilsson have been suffering from a quite evil illness and was also reported as "missing" this morning, but a press release today confirmed that he has been isolated and is now feeling better. He is recovering and I hope he gets behind the wheel soon. Source: www.stcc.se -Mattias Andersson with a new livery: http://www.touringcartimes.com/news.php?id=2361 News, gossip and speculations; please start . |

Unfortunately - I can't watch the STCC, so am not very good at noticing when the races are coming up to do it myself |

Audi has no plan to enter STCC again according to Tommy Kristoffersson in an article today. Instead he wants to build a Volkswagen for STCC next year. He also mentioned how expensive it is today, 20 million SEK for a full assault in one STCC season and that they should try and decrease costs to around 10 million SEK.

Is it for one car only? :-O That's nearly £1.7M.
Can I watch Carrera Cup Scandinavia on SVT also... don't have time to go to Sweden every racing weekend. |

When CC Skandinavia has races, race 2 is usually replayed in the 30min between the live Moto and STCC. Race 1 from the Saturday usually has a very short recap before race 2.

I saw the footage and read the story, but I still have a few questions.
-What happenen exactly in the first corner? Was there someone to blame, or was it just a racing incident? It looked to me that Ekblom blocked his wheels, and in the clouds both Goranson and Rustad, and maybe Engstrom hit him. -Why was Bjork so slow? Problems or just a bad setup, set of tires or a bad day? Or is the accord not so fast on twisty tracks? It at least seems to shred tires fast. -How did Anderson get a puncture? -Was the car of Brand on fire? I really thought that was and enjoying race. Ekblom drover great from the back, a real shame he hit troubles. Johanson did well to in his Mercedes. The move from Goranson on Rudholm was nice, but I think Rudholm is just a bit to slow to be really a contender for wins, and I think other drivers would be better than him. Does anybody know what the relation between Rudholm and WCR is? Employee, customer or sponsor representative maybe? Nilsson made a few nice moves to. I wonder what happened in the last lap between Sie and Dahlgren. |

Dahlgren made a mistake in the hairpin and Schie got past.
Rudholm is an employee as far as I know, but when TOOLS got in as main sponsor they wanted 2 Swedish drivers so guess he's a little sponsor representative too. He's not a bad driver at all, he was good in single seaters in the UK and stuff, its just that if you want to be the best in STCC right now you have to be REALLY good. Not sure why Andersson got a tyre blowout, a real shame he now has 2 races in a row where he was in for a podium finish but mechanical problems has stoped him. Best race of the season so far, 8 different manufactuers in the top 10! Where else do you see that? |

Rudholm is decent enough, but keeping him instead of Huisman was a silly decision on all levels. As for the race, that was quite a good one I thought.

V8, the race can still be seen on STVs streaming website. They keep things around for months.
If you want better video and audio, it's possible to find recordings on the net as well. |

Does anyone agree with Flash that Ekblom was unfair when he passed Flash? I haven't seen anything wrong...

What Flash ment was that Ekblom consistently banged in to him as soon as they caught up with and passed slower drivers.
