As a legend in my own lunchtime, I can blag my way into anywhere.

The only exception being a Longridge meeting when the club forgot to send my passes and the circuit boss also forgot when he was next port of call. I arrived at the circuit and could I get in?
No I could not.

So I stumped up the 80 pence - it was quite a while ago - and went in.
By pure fluke, the first two people I bumped into were the club official "Sorry I forgot to post your tickets" and the circuit boss, who plunged his hand into his inside pocket and extracted the envelope with my name on. The self same envelope the gateman couldn't find.

Oh, just remembered the other time blagging failed. 'Twas the first Autosport Show at the NEC and Moose and I weren't having much joy on the blagging front. We then spotted Tom Wheatcroft and when we saw him go to the ticket desk and get his wallet out and actually pay ..................

So we thought if Tom has to pay, what chance do we stand. I probably never got reimbursed by the big fella either.
