Classic Thunder 2009

after a 8 month rebuild my toyota starlet will be finally ready for the 2009 classic thunder championship
the merger with the boss ford saloons looks good and will boost the numbers so hopefully full grids and better races next year

who else is hoping to take part

Correct, they run track day tyres. If anyone wants to run slicks they are more than welcome in the other Classic Thunder categories.

Denis, you would have to make the rules out of plasticine to get my Belmont in, and it IS a Thundersaloon, and being a 1990 built car, it's a classic!!

Too many cylinders for starters. Production block (cough!)... rear wing might struggle to fit the bill....

Otherwise, not looking that bad for a set of regs.

I will be out in all the rounds, hoping we have the reliability back in my Evo 5 2.7 Sunbeam Lotus as have one sponsor commited.
I need to make some cut-backs as not sure how bad this credit crunch thing may get! I won't not be out much with the LMA's or DMN unless I have any luck with the Insurance Company I am talking with at the moment....but not holding my breath!!! ...
I am looking forward to the prospect of good grids and some really good saloon car racing.
With no sports cars and no slick shod 4x4's running away with it should make some fantastic racing with lots of different cars all the way up to the front!

Yes went faster than ever doing a 49.6 on lap 17 on a drying track when I finally found the limit of the wet sump! Everyone else set their fastest on lap 22/23 so sure I could get into the low 49's.
This years car will be dry sumped going up 100ccs to 2680 and will be 20Kgs lighter with hopefully 20BHP more

It's more likely to be AMOC Super GT most of the time. Still it'd be nice if Classic Thunder lived up to the Thunder in it's name!
