I am rather keen to see (hear/read) how the G50Z performs at the opener.

I was going to go, but 16 cars, with the likelyhood of a couple being wiped out in Round 1, I'm not sure.

I'll have a look if Britcar is at Oulton Park.

Hi there,

At the media/test day the quickest car was the Ford GT with a best lap of 1:22.987, 2nd was the Dodge Viper (1:23.448) and the Ginetta G50Z was third with a time of 1:23.558

Certainly looks like one to watch.

I'm heading over to Oulton Park on Monday and I am really looking forward to it. It just a shame that wouldn't be many cars out.

I was at the Media day at Silverstone on my first media pass and had a wonderful day to say the least, the new Ginetta G50Z looks and sounds great, the new Ford GT looks quite frankly, stunning, and the MOMO Sponsored Mosler of Rollcentre is a looker as well, and it was great to see the Ascari KZ1R out on track as well thundering round.

I will be at Oulton Park on both the Saturday and the Monday but i havent bothered trying for a media pass, too much work on this week with uni and so on, it would be hectic to say the least!
If im right in thinking as well, i will also be at Donington Park, which if memory serves me, is the second round but with a 2 hour race instead of 2 1 hour races

Yup I'll be at Oulton on both Saturday & Monday again this year, though hopefully none of the Ginetta's will throw themselves in my direction this year, can't afford another set of underpants

Shame to see what looks quite a small entry, but perhaps slightly better than I'd expected as there hasn't been a lot of news until recent weeks. The Mosler does indeed look the business, looking forward to seeing the X-Bow too.

I presume from your entry list the Ford won't be out to play at Oulton? Also is the GT4 350z not racing either? Was looking forward to a bit more variety in the GT4 field this year, as they seem to get that quite well at the international level, rather than just being a load of Ginetta's and one or two Astons as it was last season.

Hi there,

No Ford GT down for Oulton Park at the minute. Spoke with Derek Palmer (owner of 350Z) at Silverstone and he was still trying to get together the budget for a BGT season. Said he was definately doing the FIA GT4 race at Silverstone though which will be great.

The Ford GT is looking for drivers with budgets, as the Media Day was being used a running in test session. I only heard it really being used for about 2 laps! Mostly they were short shifting, and being gentle.

At least it's a brand new one, from Matech.

Shame about no Ford at Oulton, will just have to go to Donington too (presuming it's on!) if the car makes it out there.

Am looking forward to seeing the 350z in British GT, as it's done well in FIA GT4 so hopefully should a) be competitive and b) bring that much need variety to the GT4 field. In the meantime, I'd better get to Silverstone.

No Britcar at Oulton this year.

Real shame about CR Scuderia pulling out of BGT.

Hi there,

No Britcar at Oulton Park, but what about GT Cup. That is on 25 July at Oulton Park and looks to have a strong field including the Cadena Motorsport Aston Martin DBRS9. 1st round is at Donington on 18/19th April and I'll be there to get some pics.

Tim, where did you get the Oulton entry list from in your first post? I can't find it anywhere on the official site.

Hi there,

I cover the series as a photographer / journalist so get sent stuff by e-mail. This list is up on Daily Sportscar though.

Just looking at that list again and a couple more thoughts popped into my mind.

Weren't Team Modena/team48 due to be competing in British GTs this year, or will they be another late entry?

The other thing is anyword on Tech 9? I thought I read somewhere a while back that they'd be running the Lambo in British GTs again, but no firm announcement than I can see.

Also a shame there's no Porsche in the series this year, or at least for Oulton.

Yeah I had a look at the calendar, I think I may take a look at that Time Attack series, looks to be some interesting cars.

Are there any decent club events at Oulton, for example the series that runs a number of Super Touring Cars?

I Think the BRSCC saloon car championship in May have a race for Touring car's and last time i saw it in 2006 or 2007 (cant remember) there were several Super Tourers, of the top of my head i think there was a Primera, Mondeo, couple of Honda Accord's and a few Vectra's as well and i think there was a Peugeot 406 or a Mondeo in there as well.

Hope that helps

That's a good point. Weren't Trackspeed supposed to have a Cup S this year for British GT? Or is that another one for later on in the year?

Hi there,

Well guys what are your thoughts after the weekends action at Oulton Park ?

Looks like the Mosler is going to be a force to be reckoned with but I think that 2009 could be a great season for the Jones brothers and the Ascari.

If you guys are interested you can see loads of pics from the weekends action on my site: -

Motors TV and Channel 4 carry the Tv footage (pop over to the marshals forum and look at the chat about the event as the times are posted on it
