AN Brake Line Fittings (Solid lines)

Can someone point me to where i can get AN fittings for solid brake lines.
I'm after the bulkhead fittings and the tube nuts/sleeves etc Do they use like a sleeve which clamps the line?

Basically after these:

The line doesn't go through a bulkhead fitting. The fitting screws into the bulkhead & has a cone & thread for pipe fitting on either end.

Hi Dave,

Sorry I should have been a bit more clear,
yeah I know the line doesnt run through the bulkhead fitting itself, was just wondering with the tube nut and sleeve if the line gets crimped by that?
what sort of flare does the solid line have to have on the end for the tube sleeve ?(if any?)

Another good source of stuff is Earls at Silverstone. Highly recommended.

An fittings

Hello,

Bevan_L, it is a flared end, not a compression fitting. AN flares are 37 degrees so don't get excited that the local car parts store sells flare tools. Auto flares are 45 degrees. You should really get the proper flare tool, but the process is real simple.

Here is a pic of the low cost method, note though that this one is the incorrect flare angle..
http://toolmonger.com/2008/02/25/add...r-connections/

Simply, the line get clamped between the two rails, and the cone is screwed into the line flaring it out. The rail is countersunk to limit the flare diameter to the proper size.

Flaring brake pipes are a piece of cake on the "copper" type tubing but you will fail on the steel type with a cheapo tool.
