Summary of Rate the Races
I have been looking back over the polls to see which races were the most/least liked. The results are as follows;
As expected, Brazil was the most popular, followed by Australia then China. The least popular was Europe, followed by Singapore then Japan or Turkey. Why do people feel these results have occured? Is it all down to the track, or do the cars make the racing more/less appealing? Do championship standings contribute, or are qualifying results more important to a good race? My own view is that the most exciting races occur when qulaifying leads to a mixed-up grid. |

Malaysia would've been higher had it been a full race. Plus Monaco and Britain seem to have done better than they should've due to people voting highly just because they were the Monaco and British GPs

Well it is all peoples opinions and people may just have higher opinions of these so why is it that if people feel that way it is wrong that they did better than your opinion was

I think what jab's saying is because they are 2 of the most traditional/popular races, they scored better than they technically should've done. I was at both, and tbh, the racing really wasn't up to much.
If it was in the Middle East, however.. Selby |

I think maybe that the scores of the first three races are slightly inflated by the fact we all get a little excited at the start of the season.Oh,and the Brawn effect of course. I'd say japan scored so low because people expect a lot from it. |

I distinctly remember people specifying at the time that they were voting Monaco and Britain high because of where they were, with the actual race having no influence on that. Especially Monaco and the often-repeated phrase "I vote x because it's nice to see the cars going round Monaco"

The best tracks always produce the best races as can be seen by Australia and Brazil. China is not a good track but since it rained it was a good race.
Monaco, Silverstone and SPA are also tracks that have given us good races over the years, maybe not so this year. Spa was still ok though. |

I'm no statistics guru, but the number of votes in each pole compared back to the average score could be used adjust the scores for high profile events.

Obviously we can see from that, it's more likely that more people are prepared to actually vote if the race was perceived to be a good one.
