Anybody know what the rear deck should look like once the Lola 440 air horn is removed. What type of air intake was original, does anyone have a picture of these cars new? Can was found in Washington State near Seattle.

As I recall the B52 as it originally came out in 1980, and productionised in '81, didn't have any airbox, and was altogether more 'angular' than the car pictured here. The bodywork on this one is more like the B54/B60, which were 'rounder' than the B52. From memory only 1 was used in England in period, though a few were used in Scotland, understandably, in the Libre/Sportscar/FF2000 series up there. I guess a good few were exported to the US

Being re-bodied would help explain the 54 stamped in a different size after the 52. Would there be a suspension upgrade also?

Sorry, my techy knowledge is close to zero! The stamp looks as though the '54' was done after the '52'.

Good pics, Harry. Did you do the S2000 race there, or the Interserie itself? Is that Dud Moseley's Motus next to you - by the way whats your surname?

Hi

Driver at that event is Laurence Jacobsen, at the time one of the directors of Chevron when it was briefly Scottish owned, and also my father. Don't know a lot about the Sport 2000's but can source more photos if required, and of course see LJ regularly and can see how much he remembers. I believe that is the Motus beside.

The rear deck should have just a straight hole for the air filter and just a plain K N type filter in the breeze.

Harry, you could ask your Dad what he remembers about the later FAtlantic Chevrons. They made the B53 and B56 in Scotland in 1981-82. Were these based on older B42/B48 tubs, or brand new ones? Also, what does he recall re the 'B48S' sold to Norrie Galbraith in early '81 for hillclimbs. Was this a new car, or an update of a '79 build B48?

Harry, Thanks for the photos you posted and the offer for more if needed if you find any B52 with the body removed that would be very helpful. We will take some and post pictures of the car as we found it.
