Bit early for a list yet, season's not even started. Looks like there will be more British F3 cars there than Euroseries though...

True a bit early, but the event is already in 2 months.
I hope a lot of british f3 will drive the Masters, but I hope some other F3 teams of other formula's will also participate in the Master. |

Notjust a bit early. Very early. CPZ have the unusual ability to always make their announcements at the very latest. The Dutch GT4 entries have yet to be confirmed while they're supposed to practice this friday and the Radical cup was cancelled less than a week before the first race. Wait and see. That's all I advise. We've still got the Easterraces and Pinksterraces before the Masters come in sight.

I hope they'll allow older cars (from German Cup) and/or Italian spec Fiats to enter the Marlboro Masters, or there'll be a very weak grid.

The grid would be weakened if they allowed older cars in. The Masters is supposed to be the pinnacle of F3 racing, along with Macau. You can't water it down with uncompetitive cars. I think with British F3 and Euroseries, there will still be 24+, although its early to say and we need to see if the Euroseries grid swells up in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Those older cars could enter the Marlboro Masters without any problem. It's been a couple years since Marlboro sponsored the Masters. This year RTL GP should sponsor the event as there's no other sponsor. HTC has taken the place of Tango in sponsoring the Duthc GT4 championship so maybe they'll take that place for the Masters aswell but it has yet to be confirmed if that's the case.

And about German cup cars. I'm not so sure they would be completely uncompetitive. 07 Dallara wasn't (much) slower than the 08 one and the teams are still developping their cars... Even in UK top National contenders are sometimes quite high on ranks + the German cars have proper engines, so they aren't so slow. Sure they wouldn't be fighting for outhright victory, but so what, half of the grid never have any actual posibilities to win. And about Euroseries getting more cars: there are rumours that they are now trying to get some cars from Italy... with FPT power. So if ES would allow them, why not in Marlboro Masters too? But I doupt they find any more entries. |

There are two date clashes: April 24/25 (Misano / Hockenheim) and July 3/4 (Imola / Norisring). So it's unlikely that drivers will compete in both.

What about introducing the invitation class? Those italian teams can join selected races. It can avoid the date clashes.

Masters of Formula 3 2010
Hi there,
I was a bit early with the last thread about the Formula 3 Masters at Zandvoort, but here is a new one just 3 weeks before the race. Laurens Vanthoor has been confirmed for the Masters at Zandvoort. Anyone got some other names yet? |
