New Manufacturers for 2011?
I want to get some thoughts on this. We maybe in the middle of the championship right now, but there a lot of rumours surrounding the 2011 manufacturers wise.
There have been representatives from both Toyota and Ford attending races, while Subaru and Honda have been reported to have interest in entering. There have also been rumours of entries from Alfa Romeo and Volkswagen (If Seat does not return). And then you could have Lada returning on top of that. Chevy and BMW are currently working on 2011 cars. While I'm not sure if the situation has changed, here's an article form Touring Car Times that deals with the entries if you want to get up to speed. So what do you make of this? True or False? *** Personally I think Honda, Toyota and Ford are the most likely to enter. As for Lada returning it's a wait and see thing. |

Ford is in the WRC, so I don't see them i WTCC.
Subaru has no proper car for this and, besides, their marketing is based on the 4wd cars. Toyota are also teasing Marcelo Lotti (or Lotti is teasing us, like he has done in the last few years with the rumors of new manufacturers), since the WTCC doesn't allow hybrids. I guess Honda might be interested, but then again, we know what happened last time with JAS and NTechnology. To say the truth, the only works team I see next year is Chevy. They might as well replace the S2000 cars with big V8s from the Superstar series |

I'm not so sure if we'll see any new manufacturers, simply due to the period of rules uncertainty. This 1600cc turbo formula may well die on it's jacksy for all we know. I won't be surprised if the whole series did for that matter.

If SEAT had not brought in the TDI engine I personally think the series would be a lot better.

With the common engine I would say that Ford being part of WRC increases their chances to enter in WTCC, not the opposite. Which car/brand can be discussed, but they will have an engine already to pop under the hood of any car they please to enter.

I will believe more manufacturers when I see them.
However, having said that, car makers are looking for cheaper ways to market themselves, so to someone like Toyota, a $10 million attack on the WTCC is better than a $300 million F1 failure for one year. |

Awesome, is it going to be the East Circuit or the Full Circuit?

Isn't that a quite sensible decision, bearing in mind TI Aida is pretty much in the middle of nowhere?
EDIT : Probably the East Circuit (which actually isn't that bad, if you like a track with a few good old medium speed corners), the full one would be quite long for a WTCC race. |

According to Crash.net, Toyota might be going to the WRC again.
However Toyota could afford both a WRC program and a WTCC program comparied to F1. Or you could have Toyota in the WRC and Subaru in the WTCC, seeing as Toyota owns part of Subaru's parent. |

I prefer Okayama as a track overall. Suzuka is good, but its nice to have something different. I would like to see Motegi or some other venue (not that abomonation they now call "Fuji").

Great news!!! I hope that the Asian Le Mans Series joins them.
If Spa isn't too long for WTCC, Susuka's full course isn't either. |

Spa is too long - that's (one of the reasons) why they haven't raced their for 5 years...

The TC2000 races in Potrero de los Funes since 2008 - 6.27km, 2'30 lap times. If it was a 45min race instead of two sprint races, Suzuka would work perfectly.

Subaru with Cosworth power next year?
Saloon or Hatch? Regardless, this could be a way into the hearts of the Japanese, Americans and Subaru fans worldwide. |

I'd love to see another manufacture, of course, but the article seemed like pure speculation, basically stating they build a car that can enter if they want to, but nothing to really suggest that they actually do. Hopefully my skepticism is unjustified and we'll see Subaru in the WTCC in 2011! |

Gil, the TC2000 uses harder tires which last more laps than WTCC's Yokohamas.

Today I was watching a race from the JTCC from 1994 in Ti-Aida/Okayama (when the ST ruled - sans wings). Not only were they marginally slower than today's S2000 (1m38s vs 1m37!!!), but they able to go 90 km in the same tires (and the BMWs weren't all that faster during the start)... Hell, the S2000 rules are so wrong |

I wouldn't mind that
Then Audi can come back from Sportscars and leave Porsche have a go at Le Mans |

Sadly, Audi has enough with filling half of the DTM grid.
