Hans Devices
I have been watching the Race of Champions thingy and it came to my attention that none of the drivers were wearing a Hans device. These same guys wear them in their normal day job so why not in a high profile event such as the ROC. Do they just wear them when they 'have to' and otherwise couldnt be bothered? Surely if they are so good these pro lads would wear them all the time! Don't want a do they work don't they thing here, just find it puzzling....

Is that where they drive many different cars?
HANS devices are manufactured at different angles depending on what formula you are racing in so jumping from a single seater or GT type car into a saloon is not possible with the same HANS device. Also it may simply not be practical or possible to have all the cars set up in such a way that they are compatible for any of the different drivers to jump in and drive because of harness belts positions etc. |
