BSB 2012
Anyone any idea as to when it'll be announced?
I would have thought the final meeting at Brands but obviously not. |

I can answer that. I think this is due to a couple of factors for next year, got to avoid Euro 2012 (football) & London 2012 (all sorts of sport)

Knockhill have confirmed on their website that they will host a round (doesn't say which round) on the weekend of ... Friday 22 - Sunday 24th June 2012.
The announcement was also included in flyers for their early bird discount on 2012 season tickets. |

Is everyone missing the fact that a round of the BRITISH championship is now in Holland!
Interesting idea I guess and I wonder what all the smaller teams make of this, are they getting travel help and ferry discounts? Or is it only for the Superbikes? |

DTM (German touring cars) run at Brands. Aussie V8s run in New Zealand and Abu Dhabi. British F3 run in Monza.. I'm not sure what part needs to remain British/German/Aussie to count as a country series given the circuits, drivers, teams and hardware are often from abroad! |

Croft going doesnt surprise me, you have to remember who is running this championship. 12 rounds, 3 at Brands, 2 at Oulton, 1 each at Cadwell and Snett, all run by Palmer.
No Mallory, Croft or Mondello. Croft loses out coz Palmer cant make as much money there as he can at Oulton or Brands! Simple I get the deal with Assen, but what is this turning into>> esposing the brand to other countries, does he not make enough money here And how on earth are all the 125, Superstock teams supposed to afford the trip there? |

I have no problem with the championship going to Holland. BUT i would have liked to have seen a welsh or Irish round insted.
My problem is thay yet again, brands have 3 rounds and oulton have 2! |

Croft also faces a £120,000 legal bill after it lost its appeal against having to pay damages to three nearby residents. |

This is true, but do you really think that a BSB event would not make some money over any other event?
Do you think that a normal race meeting would make more? Or a test day or a track day? I realise that only being open for a few days means a tightening of dates. But look at Brands, they are only allowed to use the GP track a few days, do they hold small meetings or club events, of course not! They hold the biggest meetings to maximise profit, as Croft would do if they were allowed. Palmer is ruthless, its why he has got his tracks working. Croft may well not be able to afford to host the event, but they can host a BTCC meeting which takes up three days too, would that make any more money than a BSB meeting? No not really, so your argument falls short. They might well be contracted for certain events but I somehow doubt any businessman running a track would take it on himself to cancel his most profitable meeting, over a few club events. Dont believe the spin from both sides, a 3 day national event over a few track days, I dont think so. |

in short its a disgrace,
nearly 3/4s of the events are at msvr venues. might as well be known as the msvr superbike championship |

I expect I shall be howled down over this, but I don't think that BSB is as good as it used to be in its heyday, anyway. |

I imagine you cant blame Palmer, he runs the series, so has carte blanche to hold three quarters of the rounds on his tracks.
But no round in Ireland when a lot of riders are from there and going to Assen instead of racing at Mallory or another round at Silverstone is a disgrace. I am staggered he hasnt had another round at Snetterton, as that was a huge success. But no Mallory, Rockingham, Castle Combe, Mondello Park, Anglesey yet Cadwell still there when it is far too dangerous> Cmon man, you are putting rider health below revenue. Ok some of those tracks are miles from anywhere and maybe not suitable, but dont tell me Croft, Mallroy and Mondello wouldnt be popular. Combe have been trying for years abd Rockingham, is great but they moan about safety, yet still race at Cadwell! Whatever |

palmer does everything good except run decent championships, i think he should have stuck with rebuilding circuits and doing track days... i too like to see bsb have an international meeting, makes it more interesting, most of the top european national racing events have 1 or 2 excursions abroad except for the british championships...time for change |
