Is This a Record?

Got home tonight (27th October) and in the post was a 2012 availability form from the Nottingham Sports Car Club.
Well done to Vi Selby for getting it out so early.
For those of you who might want to know, the dates are:
April 22nd Curborough
July 8th Curborough (2 lapper) yes I know there's a clubbie at Silverstone that weekend
August 11th MIRA
September 15/16th Thoresby Park.

I'm doing all 5 days of course, but then I always do.

The guy I usually Marshal with wishes more clubs were like that, he has to put in his annual leave dates for 2012 by ummm 21st October 2011.

Pretty much kills any hope of doing a 3 day weekend somewhere away.

Just as an aside: Did you know that the Nottingham Sports Car Club ran the first race meeting at Donington Park when it was revived by Tom Wheatcroft on May 27th 1977. I remember because I was there marshalling!

The Karting folk at PFI near Newark were quick off the mark with their listing published on 25th October.

The circuit hs recently been extended and now has an additional 3 posts to cover. They would welcome anybody wishing to flag or other duties.

In July they have a World Championship round coupled with European Championship. A mega meeting to be run over 5 days!

The club, Trent Valley Kart Club, treat marshals very well and I enjoy every day I spend there.

Contact Clare Mills clare@tvkc.co.uk 01636 626811

They are also short for this coming weekend if anybody has time available.

And the Marshals' Club ran the rest; three meetings that first season, which made a useful contribution to Club funds.

2nd June 2012 to 3rd June 2012 British, Leaders, Midland, Championships
30th June 2012 Reg Phillips Trophy Meeting
1st July 2012 Vintage Meeting
28th July 2012 to 29th July 2012 Classic Weekend

MIRA's my favourite, I know it's only a 5 minute drive, but to see a car at speed heading towards the Control Tower is awesome, although even I was sad when the Ferrari went into the armco at the last MAC meeting there, and destroyed itself.

thankfully most jobs are more flexible, of some sorts. i mean quite a few clubs start releasing the calender dates early october time but theyre only calenders and provisional ones at that which often get changed around anyway...

The 360MRC is running their third 6 hour race at Snetterton together with a new impressive support race package (to be announced within the next few days (for contactual reasons )
Remember, it's growing, it's 10/10ths 'own' club, (we're hoping for Evil Pumpkin and MagnetOn to be present - and working? ) and is to be supported again by Radio Le Mans.
It's the usual organising team who are known to many of you, so you can be sure it will be very 'marshal friendly'.
Remember the dates of Saturday/Sunday 5th/6th May next year (the bank holiday weekend) - yes, it's a 2 day meeting and volunteering will be through Peter Rodwell.

Just wish I could think about next year right now.

We normally have the "must do's" but may be tempted to think outside the box alongside. Curborough (& therefore MIRA) are the nearest venues. (We even have that Curburgring sticker.)

Hmmmmmm??!!!!

Ian Briggs: I stole your Hmm.. If we can link up for a mutual meeting, we have a spare bed.
