Good Bye and Thank You!

For those that don't know I retired from Motorsport at the end of last year, l got through Saturday with no guilty feelings about not being at the South Downs Stages on my door step at Goodwood so all is well with my decision to quit.
I am putting all my effort into amateur radio working with guides and scouts also radio comm's for charity events such as runs, walks and other sporting events which cover large areas.
It was good working with you all, very many thanks to those that helped out on my events where I was chief marshal, keep up the good work!.
Take care stay safe!!

Shame to loose another marshal but I'm sure you will be made very welcome in your other very worthy endeavours. Good luck for the future. Adam

It would seem I managed 55 years, there is a photo of me on a WHS paper round bike at an event in 1958, a motorcycle trial!!
So I started young rather than me being old!!

All the best Pete.

Enjoy your retirement?

Will you still be helping out at the RAF Museum, but not as an exhibit?

Joe

Joe,
Gave up Tangmere Museum about three years ago after I got my radio licence, no radio there or even any interest so moved on to Amberley Museum where they have a ham radio shack, and a large aerial!!
Having lots of fun I was out on the South Downs on Sunday watching people running 26 miles, it's hard work passing messages on the radio!!

Good luck and enjoy yourself.

There is a super Ham station operating from the Allied Air Forces Museum (Yorkshire Air Museum) at RAF Elvington near York. Worth listening out for. They a DH Mosquito - the most beautiful and versatile aircraft of WW2 - in their collection.

Hope to work you from VK3 sometime. Trade Gp 11 RAF

I am a member of RAFARS over here so try and work the other RAF stations, living on an ex RAF airfild it makes sense!!
I am also involved with a few special event stations so lots of chances!!

Had a few cold events but unlike marshalling not got wet!! (yet!!)

All the very best in your retirement, however, I get the feeling you have swapped one demanding job for another! (may the E Layer be kind to you) Cheers, Mick (downunder)

We cut down on the number of events attended over the last few years but have now more or less decided that we can't "do the bank" anymore (I've already given my flags away) but are considering other duties.

All the best to you.

Radio has been in my life for a number of years hence being a Rally Radio operator to help fill the gap.
Working with Guides this weekend for their thinking day on the air where we help them make contact with other Guides around the word.
And we thought days on the bank were long!!
Cheers All.
