Donington Park historics 30/4-1/5 2022
Looking to attend the event this year, are there entry lists published anywhere? Thanks for any replies.

Entry here https://www.mastershistoricracing.co...-all-grids.pdf
Outcome of the F1 should be interesting even if the entry is a little thin with Hartley, Thornton and Stretton entered. |

Some decent entries, but the five car GT40 entry is grim. Same old, same old so far, not saying that is a bad thing. There are still a few entry lists to go. This whole Group C thing sounds a bit ambitious to me. Would love to be proved wrong.

This is helping me decide what to do next weekend - it will be motorsport somewhere, but it may not be the Donington Historic. As a regular attendee in the past, this saddens me, but there are many places to go and race your historic these days.

Thankfully the Sunday looks like the better of the two days.
Given we bought our tickets for the 2020 event and they have rolled over twice it would be rude not to go |

HTCC seems lighter on entries than normal, particularly the early Group A section?
No Rover Vitesses, 635s, Metro Turbos, the Guest's Alfa. There's also Volvos and Mustangs and at least one Holden that seem to be stayìng in garages. Are the Sierras, Skylines and quick Cologne Capris keeping those away? |

I thought all of the MRL grids had been published, although there seems to be frustratingly little information on the Group C1 event online. |

According to racecar.com a 30 car Group C1 field should be thundering down the Craner Curves this weekend.

Does anyone have a proof this Group C race going ahead ? There nothing apart from a few press releases from a few months ago and a paddock plan that shows them to be set up in the out paddock. Considering the grids for all other races been released now for nothing on the Group C to be out there is strange and bit worrying.

Donington Historic confirmed a Spice C1 will be attending a few days ago on socials.
All the entries are Motor Racing Legends grids. It is a MRL Meeting with Group C attached so obviously news for those grids will be more forth coming. I expect a decent grid considering rofgos (who are putting together the grid) position in historic racing and how many of these cars they sell. |

Perhaps in a Tom Arron style mix up it will be 30 Citroen C1s thundering towards Redgate ...

I was reading the new Octane this morning and they stated "look forward to 30 plus Group C cars at Donnington Historic"
I`m expecting 10 - 15. |

Latest thinking is Brands Sat, Oulton Sun, Snetterton Mon ... but that may change !
Having seen Group C in period (e.g. Sauber Mercedes through Woodcote at full bore anyone), a mix of quick talented drivers and enthusiastic amateurs is less appealing. Sorry getting purist in my old age ! |

Might have an explanation as to what's going on with the Group C, the weekend after is the Jim Clark Memorial at Hockenhiem and that is normally well attended by the Group C teams.

They used to do Group C in the Donington historic meetings of the past. The grids dwindled over the years but there were often spectacular cars like the Sauber, well driven by Bob Berridge. Many of these cars are too valuable and expensive to run for a meeting like this. I'd say a ten car grid would be good. I'd rather just see a well supported Formula Ford race than a five car, 80 minute GT40 enduro. I've seen all this hype about a thirty car Group C field and never believed it. Hope I am wrong.
The other thing that bugs me about this meeting is that it's strung out into two days, some qualifying and some racing on each day. I have a season ticket which is stellar value anyway. But, if I was paying for a ticket either day, I'm not sure that I would be getting my value here. I went to the BTCC, a few days back. Sunday, was a full day of racing and I'm sure almost everyone would be happy with what they got for their money. Last edited by JTN358AT; 25 Apr 2022 at 20:15. |

What I find very strange is that it's for C1 cars only, surely you'd allow C2 cars in?
