Gimmi Bruni in F1 seat?

There's a story in the Italian magazine - AutoMoto - that links the lovely Bruni with a possible Minardi seat should he be able to find the right amount of sponsorhip.

However he is up against Mark Webber - a favourite of team boss Paul Stoddart - as well as a possible challenge from either Heinz-Harald Frentzen or Jos Verstappen.

Gimmi Bruni in F1 seat?

There are two types of F1 driver; ones that pay, and ones that get paid!

Um, Gimmi - he's never been in a F1 car yet has he? i would be interested to see, a) How he performs in an F1 test (with Minardi or other)
b) whether he fares as well in F1 as has done so far in F3000 testing.

I think you'll find that a guy like him (Italian, cheeky etc) will probably do quite well on the basis of his past performance - not great, but glimpses of a potential hero in the making, give the guy a chance is what I say.
BTW: I might end up eating these words after tomorrow/Wednesday's F3ooo tests in Barcelona

From the F1 lvie report?
"However, Bruni can boast a resume decidedly better than Webber's, the Italian claiming victory in the Formula Campus and European Formula Renault"

Bruni's management paid for that didn't they???? How is this a better resume than being GT Champion then win in your second F3000 race, before coming 3rd and 2nd in the series in 2 seasons?

With the funds he have, I watched Bruni more secure as a titular driver at European Minardi... F3000, and also Minardi F1 tester.
Stoddart will continue with his catching-sponsor politics, joining all sponsors of his drivers as team sponsors. As a good example, we watched last year the personal sponsors of drivers Andrea Piccini (Sebring) and Christijan Albers (Gericom) converted to European Minardi F1 sponsors.

Presumably if Bruni is in the Minardi on merit we can shortly expect Mark Taylor to be announced as replacing Eddie irvine in the Jaguar

Glad to see that Gimmi is putting in consistent performances with all the F3ooo tests, He is quick again today with Arden - 1.31.3, and I guess today will decide which team he will sign for?
