Donington Results
Wow what a day! Did anyone else see donnie? I was there! Shame about the Saleen though! Ah well! I managed to fluke it and get onto the grid for the F3 Race and stood talking to the Speed 12 Guys whilst they were tweaking that oh so glorious V12.

well i was stood talking to the Speed 12 chaps (as you do!) and this bloke came up and asked my girlfriend if she wanted to hold a pole! After much confusion she finally agreed after being coaxed into it by myself and the TVR guys. She was given the pole for no.5 F.Carbone, i tagged along and was standing on the grid next to all the team owners, exec's and sponsors.

I was also there on Sunday....What a great day!
The GT Racing is just the best! Can't wait for Le Mans. Also good to see the Caterhams & VW Cup...Much admiration for the guy in the MK1 Golf! |

It seems to me that although the grids are small, the racing is great. now al that the series needs is a couple of Vipers and a ferrari and such! Well done to the Cooke Porsche for taking third!

Another fine drive by Simon to hand over to Martin, who, by my reckoning lead the Jones twins by 5 points. Short/Pullan 45 Jones/Jones 40 O'ROurke/Sugden 35 Lockie/Davies 34 Nice and tight at the top! |

Just looked at my calendar and there are only 2 (poss 3) meetings i'm not going to.
It's just a long wait till the next round, can I survive a 3 week gap? |

Just got my photos back from Donnie: Got a really good one of the Engineers working on the TVR with the front off, Its now A4 size and on my wall!

Are you just a Speed 12 fan or any TVR? I personally prefer the Tuscan R, The Eclipse TVR with its Flouresant Orange colour- eyecatching

i like all TVR's. Though the Speed 12 is my favourite, i think it is absolutely amazing. I like the Tuscan Challenge on Sunday, very close, very good! I prefer the Short/Pullan Tuscan, very nice, the fluroscent(?) orange one is a bit gaudy for me ! did you see the car park, bout 40 TVR's all parked together. got a good photo of that!

just had a look on www.pistonheads.com ant the reason for McKellar spinning was that he had no power coming out of the corner,
. “I was coming up through McLeans and, as I went to turn in, I felt a bit of oversteer. I was getting prepared for the exit, and to line up for the next right-hander, but when I pushed by foot onto the throttle nothing happened!” The car was sent flying off across the grass, where it spun wildly before coming to rest in the gravel. “I freewheeled at 130 miles an hour backwards over the grass!” exclaimed McKellar. Try as he might, the Ford engine would not restart. Even the marshals attempted to help by offering the car a push-start down the hill, but no joy. "I could hear it over the radio,” said Rocket, the car’s Number One. “The starter motor was whining over, but there was just no spark." Ah well, unlucky for them i suppose, they had an oil leak on saturday and brake problems in warm up then the engine was losing power all the way through the race. Happy as i am to see my two favourite cars take first and second (although in the wrong order ) it was unlucky for the Saleen team as they obviously had the faster car! Lets just hope that the Lister and Speed 12 are up to speed for the next round! |

Godfrey and David drove a fantastic race at the weekend. Massive credit to them, they were mege quick. We'll be back at Silverstone though, although it's going to be very interesting with Eclipse on song, the new Ferrari, Joneses, Sudgen, and us all vying for the lead. I wouldn't miss it if I were you.
Thanks for the support guys, it is greatly appreciated. |
