kerb hopping usually means the inside wheels were over the kerb , grass or witches hats ie straightlining the corner
and its not illegal just "Bad Sportsmanship"

more like 'I own the circuit, I paid good money to put those kerbs in to extend the width of the track for you and I don't like you going over the kerbs because I have to repaint them everytime you come here'

IOW - tey get put in and, naturally, a racing driver will use ALL of the track including kerbs. Take the kerbs out and problem solved...

hrmmm, it seems every time they showed a shot of T1, someone was bringing dust up from the inside of the track.... blopdy Steven Johnson must have been busy.

Also, where should Faulkner have refuled? Where do they refuel the cars between races? In a nuclear bomb shelter, 500 miles from the track?

As i said in another thread. They had tyres on the inside of turn one right on the edge of the track for the MGF race, which none of them even came close to hitting, but when the V8s came on they moved them back about 1 mtr. So it allowed the v8s to cut the corner at turn 1 without a problem, and then they penalise them for it.
Typical avesco un organisation

I looked out for that on the Fox replay today- yep, they were back for R1, but right on the kerb for race 2.

Hmmm this will teach me to read the penalties better.

Car #2 Jason Bright was penalised with 32 seconds added to his race time for race 3 for a driving infringement.

Checking the original and subsequently reposted results for race 3 show NO DIFFERENCE inthe positions for Jason Bright -
7 2 Holden Racing Team Jason Bright Holden Commodore VX 5000 39 01:02:09.4877 16 1:32.9041*

That was the replacement result. The original showed:

7 2 Holden Racing Team Jason Bright Holden Commodore VX 5000 39 01:02:09.4877 16 1:32.9041*

So at this stage I swould say the results have NOT been amended correctly according to the Stewards hearing.

So who botched this one up? AVESCO? They control the timing, not the tracks any more....

And just confirming - a 32 sec penalty for Bright puts him down in 9th outright, not 7th

7 888 Ozemail Racing Team John Bowe Ford Falcon AU 39 1:02:35.8604 1:33.1801 5
8 18 Shell Helix Racing Paul Radisich Ford Falcon AU 39 1:02:39.2027 1:33.8892 10
9 2 Holden Racing Team Jason Bright Holden Commodore VX 39 1:02:41.4877 1:32.9041 16

It is illegal to refuel cars in the garages at the creek, could you imagine a fire due to this? the fire goes up and into the corporate suites! (no great loss)
there are rules for refuling during races like a crewmember with an extinguisher and fire suits, etc.
during a normal meeting at the creek you can't fuel in the garage and you can't fuel in the pitlane if your race does not allow it but you can fuel behind the garages with the kids walking around and people smoking and wearing shorts but it is too dangerous to allow refueling in pitlane with all them fire marshals, etc.

And more information just in on the wire (interesting phrase that...)

It appears that in Race 2, Jason Richards was also penalised 32 seconds (which has been appplied correctly btw).

CAMS have this afternoon issued the following correction:

Car #02 Rick Kelly received a 32 second penalty to his race time for
race 3 for a driving infringement.

Car #2 Jason Bright was not penalised.
