Raven, you're a bugger! I just logged on to start this very same thread.
Pole Position: Helio Castroneves My top 15 is: 1) Bruno Junqueira 2) Helio Castroneves 3) Sam Hornish Jr 4) Tony Kanaan 5) Paul Tracy 6) Gil deFerran 7) Kenny Brack 8) Scott Sharp 9) Dario Franchitti 10) Felipe Giaffone 11) Max Papis 12) Greg Ray 13) Buddy Lazier 14) Mark Dismore 15) Johnny Herbert I think Bruno can do it. He has been blinding on ovals, and was impressive at Indy last year. My dark horse is Tony Kanaan. |

Oh yes, I am painfully aware of the Andretti family history at the Speedway. But I am also optimistic by nature and I don't believe in Jinxes....
I'm also not afraid to admit that since 1979 I have predicted the winner of the Indy 500 correctly only three times. (1985, 1986, 1989) So, don't put any money on my picks. |

I forgot about Vasser. He is a definite possibility for a top 5. A couple of weeks ago I thought that CART weren't sending any guys that had real chances at knocking off Penske, Sharp, Ray, Ward et al. But now I've looked through the field, every single one of them is a class act with a chance of winning.

CART's driver entries include Kanaan, Vasser, Brack, Tracy, Franchitti, Junqueira, Andretti and Papis. Only Mad Max will be running with a full-time IRL team.

Another prediction, sadly, is that at least one driver will be crippled by the end of the meeting. Salazar, Lazier, PJ Jones and McGehee have already had serious injuries in IRL lately.

Good picks mac, Bruno winning Indy would be... Too good to ever be true!
He's running really strong times though, perhaps a shot at pole, but I won't jinx the man. Here we go with mine, Qualifying 1. Sharp 2. Castroneves 3. Junqueira 4. de Ferran 5. Redon 6. Cheever 7. Brack 8. Unser Jr. 9. Hornish Race: 1. de Ferran 2. Brack 3. Tracy 4. Junqueira 5. Hornish 6. Andretti |

I think Sharp would be a good pick to win. Hows Hornish Jr going at the moment ?
