MINIs!

Great to see the Mini Se7ens and Miglias in with the F3 and GT classes at Knockhill and several times this year. Hopefully getting the support they deserve! However, grids looked down a bit at Knockhill, 14 finishers from 16 starters in the Migs, and 17 from 21 for the se7ens - are the grids generally down this season, or is it because of the long trip up North for some.

Sorry to go off the point, but why is it most southeners wont travel North! Us Northerners tarvel thousands of miles a year coming South and never hear us complaining, Grids were down in Monoposto at Croft this weekend just because people had to tarvel over 100miles, oh no shock horrer, we do it every other week.

Well its their loss really, we have the best, most challenging circuits in Croft and Knockhill anyway.

Minis

Still off the original subject...but although Cadwell is in the middle of nowhere, its still a great circuit to find and enjoy! And Louth...market town in a 60s time warp but wondeful supporting cast.

Couldn't agree more Martin. I think Cadwell is one of the best, if not the best, circuits in Britain - just a shame it's so far away!!

Going back to the original subject, some of the mini racers run on tiny budgets and don't do all the rounds. Faced with the choice of Knockhill or Spa what would you choose? I think you will find the grids will be larger at other circuits. Oh and I agree Cadwell is a fantastic circuit, especally in a mini.

The Minis allways give good racing throughout the field, looking forward to seeing them at Croft, will you be racing roscoe?

Although not racing Minis but Formula Saloons we love Croft and would travel to Knockhill, (much more welcoming than Rockingham)and we are based in Essex.

We usually test on the Friday, qualify on Saturday and race on Sunday, and thanks to the great Northern hospitality have hangovers Sat and Sun.

Can't wait until 27th / 28th July for our 'Northern' round at Croft

Yeah, right, blame me!

It's true, minis are supporting the F3/GT meeting at Thruxton!

They were also at the Oulton GT/F3 meeting. Unfortunately the Mini Miglias didn't get to race; a great pity - it would have been much more entertaining than the second F3 'race'!

Slightly cheaper, but no less thrilling, are the Mighty Minis. Based on pretty standard Mini Cooper 1.3is, everyone uses the same parts, and modifications are limited to ensure close racing.

Very friendly to beginners, and very addictive. That's what I race at the moment, and I'm from oop Norf - it hasn't proved to be too much of a handicap yet

Contact me by PM if you want more info. Alternatively, come to Oulton on the 14th of this month to see us in action!

I've been watching Mini's race all my life and wish I had a quid for each excellent fantastic race that they put on, including the great Se7en and Miglia contests at Snett last Sunday. I remember seeing Pete Baldwin in an orange Mini at Snett in 1968 and he still races his orange Miglia version now!

Cadwell is a fantastic circuit agreed but Louth has a big part to play in F1. PSM Formula One Management are based there who look after a lot of sponsorship accounts for most F1 teams. They also brought in Coca Cola to F3000 with Nordic.
