I don't know, Schneider was all over the back of him before the 1st stop n' go, fair play to Jean though, he was class.... saw him afterwards in the Paddock Tunnel, carrying my tyre like everyone else, poor fella was looking a bit mithered then, mobbed is the word I think...

Congrats to Jean - great drives in great races.

Dr. what was the deal with the tyres. I saw loads of people with them under arms / on shoulders etc. Were they free or cost ££s.

Tyres, you just queued up at the dunlop tent in the paddock, and as they took the tyres off they were just passed out free and for nothing, didn't impress mrs.minardo much though, and I haven't g a clue what to do with it now..only problem on the day was queuing throughout the old f1 cars race.

Some F1 tyres are turned into coffee tables and sold. Either that or use it as a big doorstop, but to be honest I couldn't think of what to do with one either if I had one.

What a great idea that was! Disposing of a large quantity of scrap tyres is a big problem - getting the punters to take them away for you is a brilliant move!

that thought occurred to me as well, while queueing, if they run out, will they try getting us to take their old sandwich wrappers...?
the tyre's still in the back of the car and in the heat today is starting to smell, should keep the flies out anyway...

Reido Rules should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I have to say my experiance with Jean was totally different, I have to say that his failiure to turn up to autograph signing, his refusual to sign anything when I met him on three occasions, where there was very few other people. Having been told get lost by the frenchman, I have to say, that he is no superstar. Schnieder was all over him, Tomzcheck was spun around, Fassler, Aiello, Schnieder were punished multiple times. Yes he drove fairly well, but he was given somewhat of an easy day, and all of the people I met at the circuit totally agree with my comments, one fan was extremely displeased, and one man I spoke to said that Alesi almost reduced his little kids to tears, not what even Michael Schumacher would do.

After Alesi's treatment of the fans, Schneider was shocked when he saw an example of it.

Well blame his attitude on years of F1, though it proves that you don't believe everything you read about drivers in the press.

Myeah, my opinion of Alesi went down severely when I read his comments about DTM in a magazine. To be honest, he sounds as welcome as Nigel Mansell in the BTCC...

At least Mansell wasn't arrogant and he certainly didn't mistreat his fans.

Apparently Jean finds the attention he is gaining slightly overwelming.
Rememeber in F1 the drivers are quite seperated by the fans so DTM's open paddock policy would be quite a culture shock.

Yeah, but I still find a point blank refusal to some one, on their own, stood next to him, is quite unacceptable.

I suppose you speak as you find. In Jean's defence, I must say that I waited for him outside of the Mercedes Hospitality and he came out and signed an autograph for me. I saw him again later when he came out of the Audi hospitality and he was signing things for people and chatting to them. I was lucky enough over the course of the two days to get every DTM drivers autograph and I was well chuffed. They all seemed really friendly.
