Next Year
Well people what a championship we are in for next year!!
We could start to call it the Honda racing cup after all the riders wanting to ride the best bike out there and it will certainly be the end of the Rossi holiday. Anybody willing to say who they think will win the championship? Rossi will be up there as will Biaggi, Barros and the newly signed Gibernau in fact I think Gibernau will give all the above named riders a run for there money not to mention his team-mate Kato and what about McWilliams on the new Roberts creation? I bet he wins at least one race, Phillip Island maybe? The team certainly have Honda worried! They did say they stole the design which to my mind say's alot about what they think of the capabilities of the Roberts team, here's hoping they get some good results next season. |

Fortuna is going to Yamaha, Gresini is staying at Honda, with Movistar backing.

Kato will win a race (maybe more). This year was about learning the bike and he improved with each race.
I don't think Edwards will win on the Cube next year, unless the bike improves drastically over the winter. I am predicting a win for the new Ducati though. I reckon they'll be quick straight out of the box. |

hopefully ducati will be quick out of the box otherwise it will only be another season of honda and yamaha wins - but, we can only hope that these wins are shared between 7 or 8 riders

No, they shouldn't have had them in the first place. And if this is true, great.

Nicky Hayden and Valentino Rossi will get the job done. Yes, there teammates for next year. The Moto GP Championship Grid is getting bigger and Rossi will have a major dogfight in his hands.

I think Rossi will win it again but its going to be much closer. The battling between all the various Honda teams and their new bikes will be great, so will seeing Ducati and Kawa develop the bikes.
Anyone want to have a go at predicting the top 10 riders (not necessarily in order?) I'm saying Rossi, Hayden, Bayliss, Barros, Biaggi, Roberts, Hopkins, Kato, Jacque and Gibernau |

Apparently the Duke is still slow, but Bayliss was quicker than Loris at the last test.

Top Ten:-
Rossi, Biaggi, Bayliss, Barros, Capirossi, McWilliams, Roberts, Gibernau, Kato and Checa! Not in order of course!! I think Edwards will be there to on a number of tracks as will Jacque and Nakano. |

I don't know much about Hayden so I won't be tipping anything, but from all I've heard he's supposed to be very good. But I think putting him straight onto a Repsol Honda instead of farming him out to a satellite team may not be in his best interests, as he's going to have enormous pressure on him to perform.
One rider I think will do much better (if the bike is up to it) is John Hopkins. He's put in some great races this year on the Red Bull Yamaha, but they haven't been seen because he was further back. For his first year and being so young, I think he was very impressive. |

Red Bull are sponsoring KTM's 125cc project. This has left the whole team up the creek with both McCoy and Hopkins also gone.

Oops, forgot about KTM..
WCM, I believe, are gone, and there spot will be taken by Murawaki in 2003... although I've read rumours that Murawaki chassis will be used by WCM next year with Honda engines. But that was only rumour... |
