Arrows - Saved???
I have heard rumours that Arrows have been taken over and any staff that haven't found other work have been asked to come in and will be paid in full.
Has anyone else heard anything? They are going to struggle to get anything good for next year as most of the mechanics now work elsewhere, also what's been happening with the design for a new car etc? |

They're only meant to have 2 staff on the pay roll now. Thats one hell of a work load if they do return.

I spoke to a TWR employee on Friday, who said simply "No firm news, but don't write us off yet." There's still hope, and I would very much like to see the Arrows team back on the grid.

Maisie, we all would. It is a tragedy whenever the F1 grid loses a good team, and Arrows certainly had potential. However, unless somebody buys it (which would be silly really), then I cannot see Arrows coming back. It would probably be much cheaper to put the 48 mill. refundable deposit down, and a whole lot less problematic.
The big problem for any team wanting to come into F1 (or dsilly enough to buy Arrows) is to find a decent engine. I don't think there are any available anymore, unless they can afford the customer Ferrari. |

You'd have to beleive in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy if you think Arrows will be fronting up in 2003.Whatever happened with the Prost/Phoenix thing, did that just die a natural death after Bernie said they couldnt race this year?

Valve, your hypocracy knows no bounds. Are'nt you the same VB that put a hex on Arrows and Tom Walkinshaw?

Wrex, the hex was on TW, not on Arrows. That was for TW to lose his hair and his libido. It wasn't supposed to cause the downfall of Arrows. I don't miss TW from F1 at all - but I'd like the team to survive one way or another. Don't think it will though.

Is it logical to assume Bernoldi will be in the second Minardi due to his sponsership and the fact he is a half decent driver?

Yeah, like Phart. After all the TW propaganda and threats of lawsuits, that one eventually dissipated like any other bad smell. TW was even going to be involved in the technical side of that Phoenix/Dart/ex-Prost debacle.

Funny, because Audi have been denying any interest in F1.

Some one needs to get an oak stake out and kill off Arrows finally once and for all.

On Reuters newswires thisafternoon (Friday)
Arrows Formula One team are close to negotiating a takeover deal to rescue the team just seven days before the deadline for entries to be submitted for the 2003 world championship. The cash strapped Oxfordshire based team are in final talks with a German company called Asset Trust and Partners over a buy-out, sources close to Arrows who did not want to be indentified said on Friday. But they must beat the November 15th deadline to submit applications to the sports governing body the FIA to take part in next years championship. |

What's the betting the FIA let Arrow's miss this deadline, they've let them miss races.....
Bernie is obviously desperate to keep Arrows in F1. |

If it means a 22 car grid then who can blame them. I would do the same if it meant more cars racing next year and of course the paying public will want to see as many cars as possible too!
