Whiting set to be new Jaguar boss.
From Daily F1.com - www.dailyf1.com
Whiting set for top Jaguar role "There are reports today that Charlie Whiting, FIA Safety Delegate, Race Director and Official Starter will take the reins at Jaguar-Racing, replacing Niki Lauda, who was dropped last week. Whiting, who turned 50 in August, has been involved in Formula One since 1977 when he worked for the Brabham team as a mechanic. He was at the outfit for over ten years, rising to the position of Chief Mechanic before taking the opportunity to join the FIA as Technical Delegate in 1988. He held this position for nine years before being promoted again in 1997 to become the Official Starter, Race Director, and Safety Delegate. London-born Whiting is also the Head of the Formula One Technical Department, and given his technical background as well as his high-placed positions with the sport’s governing body, he would seem to be the prime candidate to steer the Jaguar ship to greater fortunes. Ford Group VP Richard Parry-Jones said at the press conference last week to announce Niki Lauda’s removal that the Team Principal would need to have a technical or engineering background and have deep knowledge of F1 as well as long experience. Whiting is held in generally high regard by the teams, and Benetton was known to have tried hard to lure Whiting to a senior role several years ago but was unsuccessful. In his role at Jaguar, Whiting would run the day-to-day activities, reporting to the new Premier Performance Division CEO, Tony Purnell. Sources say there will be an announcement early next week." |

Yeah!! especially the ones that he was not able to act on because they were so well disguised.
So, who is rumoured to take over from Charlie? Let me guess: Niki Lauda?, Bernie, Max, John Toad, .......the list goes on. |
