Yes, he is not participating this year. It might interview with his anger-management coursework.

That's the 1st time I've heard of this reason!According to an article about it on TR forum,Toni cited the reason for declining the invitation was due to wanting to focus more on Winston Cup series & trying to make a serious run at another Cup there.Toni still has a rooting interest in IROC series tho as His World of Outlaw driver(name escapes Me)will be competing in it!
PS:btw I haven't heard any mention if Jeff Gordon got an invitation or not &/or if He turned it down or accepted, yet!

Tony followed jeffy's example,
jeffy showed that it was okay to wimp out.

Now, I think that Tony won't be invited again either.

IROC is "real" as you call it, though it has lost a lot of credibility because champions turn down their invitations.

A true race pf champions should also be ran on dirt, road courses, and in differnet type cars. The way this Iroc thing is run, just makes it look like a staged show.

IROC is a farce the way it is run and the title (International Race of Champions)of the series is ridiculous.

How about this format:
Tracks (2 ovals & 2 road tracks) - Daytona, Bristol, Watkins Glen, and Road America.

Drivers - 2 from Winston Cup, 2 from Busch, 2 from IRL, 2 from CART, 2 from Trans Am, 1 from ALMS, & 1 from Grand Am.

Call it "North American Race of Champions" - NAROC

I'm surprised they've gone for two WoO racers. They are probably on a par of standard, so invite one, invite both, but as The Dude pretty much proved last year driving on a dirt track and a 1.5 mile oval are much different and it requires experience on the big stuff to be able to compete in IROC.

Do we know what tracks they are racing at, on that point?

hoping for some good races

All ovals & all tracks NASCAR uses.

Maybe Harvick & Biffle will "mix it up" !

(At least I hope so !)

The ONLY reason to watch. Looking forward to them two mixing it up in a NON-NASCAR sactioned race. The two go after each other- NASCAR can't punish them-- can they.

I wouldn't think that NASCAR could punish them for "fighting" in IROC.
