Andy Metcalf should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Proton

Personally I think Proton could well be much stronger this year. They had committed themselved to two years from the start so they can easily start 2003 from where they left off in 2002. Phil Bennett will be much happier with the change in engine penalty rules as well.

Not sure, the car looks a bit 'beefy' compared to the more nimble Astra and Honda Civic. They have brought in a new tech director, maybe this will have an impact on their performance.

Honda have to be favourite to challenge the Astra, the car looks very strong, lets hope they get a proven 'top liner' to lead the team.

I think tems should be banned from using two door automobiles...either that or ban them from using 4 door cars...it looks stupid having cars of completely opposite sizes and shapes.

i kind of agree with Tim Harvey Fan, it does look weird having all different types of car racing. I think they should amend the rules a bit for this, cos the Honda does look like a van compared to the MG or the Proton...

Yeah but it is better to have lots of different looking cars, than a field of 15 cars. Volvo ran an estate in '95 - don't think we are likely to see another estate in the series tho!!!

I think its nice that within a tight regulation series we have so many varied cars!
I think it will be interesting if Proton get the handling sorted on the Impian cos they clearly have the car with the biggest grunt out there! I predict a Leslie win this year for sure

That's how oturing cars always has been though- the idea of standardising on 2-litre 4-door cars only really appeared with Supertouring- check out these 60's pics:

The Proton was by far the fastest in a straigt line
The Vauxhall was the best on the brakes
The Honda was very nimble
The MG was as steady as a rock (appart from Reid going down the craner curves!)

Can't wait till 2003!
