PISTON BROKE should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

From where I sit, F1 coverage is VERY average. The cameras follow the local heros rather than the leaders and the commentator makes a LOT of mistakes. Thank Heavens for Martin ! Also Murray is very biased! In contrast the CART coverage (particularly from ABC) is fantastic. Accurate commentary, lots of statistics and insights into team tactics. You always know who the leaders are and what is happening down the field. What do you guys think ?

the f1 tv coverege is too impersonal. in cart, whne the eurosport commentators say 'let's stay on board for a while' it happens. when murray does that, it invariably doesn't.
f1 has better pre and post race coverege mind you. we hardly get any pre race amble and no post race celebrations at all.

Here in the states I follow F1 via Fox SportsNet -- with Mike Joy and Derek Bell doing the commentary and Peter Windsor the paddock reporting. In general, it's been very good. Joy is knowledgeable . . . and Bell obviously knows driving inside and out. And both he and Windsor do what they can to illuminate the byzantine world of F1 politics.

CART coverage is average. Unfortunately, too little time is spent on developments within the sport and the unfolding off-the-track news. That's because ESPN/ABC offers no real pre-race show, and Paul Page doesn't interject much during the competition. I don't recall if he even mentioned Franchitti's test with Jag. Page can grate. He misses things and gets overwrought unnecessarily. Parker Johnstone (another former driver) isn't bad.

But, there's no committment by the network beyond the two-hour time slot set aside. After Christiano Da Matta's first win Sunday in Chicago -- there wasn't even time to get a word with him before ABC went to its evening news show.
