Johnny Cecotto
I see that Johnny has signed up for Sebring with Gabriele Rafanelli again - let's hope the car lasts a bit longer this time...
Does anyone know what Cecotto's plans for 2003 are? Yet another season of V8-STAR would seem a bit pointless - he has nothing to prove. I'd love to see him in the DTM, but all the berths seem to be full, and there seems little prospect of BMW joining up. Perhaps he'll be part of Munich's assault on the Nurburgring 24 Hours this summer. |

It´s very probably to see this year to Cecotto in 24 hours of Nurburgring.
And maybe also other old fox of BMW, Hans Joachim Stuck. Last edited by E46; 19 Feb 2003 at 19:13. |

Plus, presumably, Mullers J and D; perhaps Peter Kox or Fabrizio Giovanardi too?

Jorg and Dirk Muller are sure. I don´t know, maybe others BMW men: Giovanardi(like you say), Garcia, Huisman, ....

How old is Cecotto now?
He deserves a go in the ETC with BMW, he has proved in V8STAR that he is still a top driver, his efforts in the 1998 STW Cup were great in the semi-factory beemer. Pity his last Bathurst start was 1992, his press on style was great to watch across the mountain, especially his effort to get the CiBiEmme M3 into Hardies Heroes in 1987. |

Cecotto is forty-seven years old. Yes, he is still a fantastic driver.
