RubberD should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Why Schumi was not black flagged?

The rule says that a driver cannot drive with parts of his car falling out. He did it for more than 3 laps.

Is he going to be DQed? He should.

That's a terrible rule! I applaud drivers who can drive cars that are falling apart! This is the first time since Monaco '97 I've said flattering things about Schumacher!

He'll likely be disqualified for scraping too much off the plank under the car, though.

I think it's hard for a driver to focus on the rear view to look for parts. I agree he should have been called in earlier.

Perhaps he could have focused more on his car problems if he'd known Juan was going to throw the race away...

He threw the race by breaking his car in the first place. He lost his focus because he was so mad that Kimi closed the doors on him.

I was wondering if Schumacher was going to be DQ'd, but in the end, I guess the stewards decide that no one was threatened by the bits dangling off. Showed that Michael is very quick, bits falling off and he was still pulling out a gap!

It also goes to show that the F2002 is probably faster than the others on 3 wheels

Yeah, the speed of the F2002 against the others with bargeboards gone and stuff like that is worrying. What the hell kind of monster will the F2003 be?

Why Schumi was not black flagged?

Maybe the fact that the Clerk of Course is a former works Ferrari Driver............

I think he wasn't black-flagged because the pieces did not represent a danger to any other opponents on the circuit. No-one was following him at the time.

Amazing... the commentators were commending Michael for his ability to race a car at such good speed despite the problem, pay tribute and all and yet we have people here who can't seem to stop ranting and pick flaws.

I applaud Lee on this one Give him a break.

Aye!!! I just wondered when this sort of stuff will appear. Kinda missed it lately.

Stop being so infantile. FIA actually revamps the entire sporting regulations just to break Ferrari/Schumacher domination and you still accuse them of favoring Ferrari! Grow up boys.

I guess the danger was minimal..... about the same as Kimi going 1mph too fast in the pit lane I guess. I though Michael was black flagged (well black/orange) according to the commentry - or was he already coming in at that stage?

Can't see why anyone is suggesting disqualification - isn't standard procedure, a black/orange flag and return to pits to rectify the problem?

It seems he had to take on fuel, so I don't think it would have made much difference anyway.

?!! Arn't you guys getting a little exaggerating? Might as well sue BMW for the possibility that the lollipop may have killed JPM. Or that JPM's spin could have caused a fatal chain accident and hence he should be hanged for carelessness?

Red...and we were talking just on Wednesday what new conspiracies would take place in the new season...

The arguement is pointless as Schumi was black-arange-flagged after just two laps with his board hanging so the marshals did it right. This just was about the time for his scheduled pit-stop so he came in and refuelled. I'm not sure if the board had fallen before he entered the pits. But to blackflag him - it's ridiculous. And what about this "mad about closing the door" thing.

Nobody black flag Mika when his front wheels came off during the race and bounce back to the road in Silverstone (though luckily the pit entrace is just 300m further down). When the marshals think that there is no immediate danger, the car is allowed to continue as long as it's speed isn't badly compromised. But if it poses intermediate danger, they would, as in this case, request the car to come in to have the problem retified before going back to the circuit.

So there is no problem here, no reasons for a justified disqualification. Nothing wrong with the marshals, nor the FIA, nor Ferrari... accept it and not try to stain the tablecloth..
