1. It will happen.

2. Depends on where it happens. For example if the last car in line wrecks it will probably catch the whole field as all cars will be on him before you can say "WOW".

TOO MANY!!!

Am I the only one who thinks it is absolutly stupid that even before a race, it is a given that a major, and dangerous wreck will happen and what does the sanctioning body do about it? They market it as another reason to view the race! NASCAR may say otherwise, but do you think they would really let Fox advertise using such means if they thought it was detrimental to sport? Advertise close racing, but for goodness sake, don't promote a situation that should be avoided and looked down upon.

It doesn't necessarily need to happen, even though it's very likely. Then again, of the last 4 races run at Talladega, 2 of them have been caution free...

RE

I voted for there will not be a big one!
Since NASCAR took to running the smaller fuel cells(13.5 gal.)at 'Dega last year & Daytona this year,We've not had "the big one",I really don't see any reason for this number to change,as long as NASCAR comtinues to use the smaller fuel cells so as to break up the 1 big pack, even if only for a few laps length,JMO!
I was originally against the entire idea of smaller fuel cells as I didn't think that it would make any difference on avoiding "the big one" & in fact I was concerned that it may well add to more chances of accidents happening on pit road with almost doubling the number of pit stops when compared to the 22.0 gallon cells! However,We've now had 2 RP races with not a "big one" happening in either one,so as long as the great big accident doesn't happen in the near future,I'd have to change My mind & say kudos to NASCAR for making the RP tracks/races a little more safer at least, although, much like NASCAR,I reserve the right to again change My mind in the near future!LOL!

24T-
I would hold my descision on the smaller fuel tanks.
If you remember- it didn't do as they expected- It didn't spred the cars out.

What it did was to eliminate 1/4 of the drivers from contention of winning- because they ran out of fuel. I know that many will learn & not make that same mistake.

NASCAR said that they didn't get enough from last years experment. So they were gonna try it at Daytona. I guess they didn't learn.

The more often the cars have to enter & exit pit road for fuel- The more chances that there can be problems.

I predict the big one to happen on pit road!

It is Nascar, fast and closely bunched cars. Wrecks do and will continue to happen. All wrecks are dangerous...that's racing.

Today's Busch race wiped out 21 cars with nine of the fifteen drivers to a big hit in the points including the leader Todd Bodine on lap 9.

Different place to normal too - off turn 4. Proof it can strike anywhere if somewhere has a problem!

Talladega, fast speed with "bunched" cars. The slightest bobble or infraction and you seen what can happen. Now they go to Martinsville where an entirely different type of driving skill is required.

I'm surprised with all of the carry on at the finish that there wasn't another one...

There was darn near was another large crash-bang-wallup when Michael Waltrip spun in front of many cars. Who knows how most everybody avoided it!
