He's seems to be oké, the other 2 are far behind. Let's see what race 2 brings with Nelsinho. Jamie Green is a suprise for me. Winning your first F3 race inmediately, that's very good, I don't think much drivers did that before. Also a good result for Keohane.

Green and Antinucci have both been disqualified for a tyre mix up according to Autosport.
Green it seems raced on the tyres Antinucci qualified with and vice versa... which isn't allowed it appears! |

Yep. Carlin have admitted the mix up, but are appealing nevertheless. S'pose it's worth a punt.

Carlin were appealing against the race one result, then theoretically they could appeal againt the appeal decision, because on of their drivers(VDM) was disadvantaged.
It could go on forever!!!!!! |

They supposedly did it again in second race to try to show it was a genuine mistake and so as not to look like admitting they were wrong in first race, so if it's correct then they will be htrown out in both races !!!

Two rather processional races to start the year off. Didn't realise about Green being thrown out until I just got back now! Real shame that because he drove brilliantly to fend off Van Der Merwe. Certainly made up for that in the second race though.
Piquet 'driver of the day'! I'm sorry but that aint right, his name won him that. He didn't make the first race due to his technical infringements and then second race he qualified 2nd and finished third which compared to what Green and Van Der Merwe did today doesn't warrant him the award in my opinion. Of course he did well to get himself up there on the grid for his first UK race but 'driver of the day', no! |

I am no F3 man, I was at Donnington today more for the GT's. But they seem to be two pretty good races. Piquet Jr looks very very quick.

Van Der Merwe did him on the run to the first corner. Piquet went well, didn't quite have the pace of the two Carlin boys and was over driving slightly in trying to compensate that but he certainly had the legs on everyone else and certainly considering this was only his first race he's setting himself up well for the rest of the year.

Agree entirely Murphy. Outstanding he was all day and the tyre situation that had him disqualified would have given him no performance gain. I was certain I was looking at two F1 champions of the future as I watched Green and Piquet today.

Yeah but to counter that a fair few of the other guys have raced in Britain before.
And the guys still a kid, thousands of miles from home. Quite alot to take in and he seems to be doing a pretty good job. |

Vey dull races, save for Piquet's sideways style in his pursuit of van der Merwe.
Green: absolutely superb, but what an insane way to be stripped of victory (Carlin's appeal was rejected last night so the team have now gone to the MSA and that could take up to a month). Likewise, Piquet in qualifying. Both, it could be argued, gained no performance advantage from these irregularities, but the rules are the rules. I hear Piquet Snr was very disappointed with the scrutineers as he'd apparently spent the previous day with them making sure the car was measured up to requirements, and they never spotted that there might be a problem with the brakes. Until someone from another team pointed it out after first qualifying ... Nice. He said he told the scrutineer if he was going to throw him out, fine, but he should be prepared to go around the other cars. If he did then half the field would be thrown out as he would find something equally as trivial on most other cars! The scrutineer declined Piquet's invitation ... All fun and games, eh? |

I still think tha Piquet Jnr. did very well compared to what some of you guys said about him. It was said before that he is only a cheater with not enough talent. I know that he drove more than most, but he did not know the track that well he is young away from home and he drove like a seasoned veteran. So he msut be talented that is for sure.
