Maserati-powered Picchio
I had heard FIAT were trying to put the Maserati name back in sports car racing, but with the finanical troubles that have affected even their F1 team, perhaps this the only thing they could afford.
I felt the Picchio had good links with BMW, so is this any interest from the FIAT group or a private group that simply wants to see the Maserati name back in racing? |

Well last i heard concerning Maserati was that a Maserati racing division had been set up, with Jean Todt at it's head. So it would really be Ferrari, just called Scuderia Maserati...

There is a new Maserati cup racer in the pipeline. Schumacher and Badoer did some testing. I think there will be a new cup in 2004.

Nah, not against privateer Ferraris (575/550 and 360).
It's gotta be a prototype, or they'll just stay in small-time series. |

Well, if what i heard about Todt being in charge is true, then it would seem FIAT/Ferrari's backing is with Maserati, and maybe a "works" effort could happen. Of course, that could mean them ending up shooting themselves in the foot.
Anyways, is it just me, or does that Maserati look a bit lame for racing anyway? |
