Nguyen dropped
I just read on F3000.com that Nguyen was dropped by BCN because of sponsorship shortage. Well another good driver out. At least it looks like BCN stays in business.

Damn, I knew this was coming, but it's a damn shame, Rob is quite a fine driver, maybe a bit reckless, but he's pretty racy, and as Australia's only F3000 representative, it's a shame to see him gone.

And now what? Who will fill his BCN seat?

This is the problem always, good drivers out of drive, because shortage of funding, and at same time there's drivers with healthy sponsor package and no talent.
How could we combine good drivers with good funding? |

It was only a matter when Nguyen was going to be dropped by BCN because had Rob had the funding for the whole season Astromega would never have let him go in the first place.
Piccolo brought a cr@pload of stickers to his car but I would guess those would disappear after his deal runs out after the next race. |

This is a huge shame! Surely someone in a half decent series somewhere is keen on giving a hot driver a shot, without requiring masses of moneybags.

Cripes... Single seaters are starting to look like one great big joke driven entirely by money and not at all by talent.
It's a shame... It just costs too damn much to run a team in F3 or F3000. |

Reading this, http://f3000.flagworld.com/en/news/i...py?artid=12612
I am not sure who dropped whom? It sounds like Penker and Nguyen decided to save their hard earned sponsorship money for a better opportunity. |

That sounds like the management trying to save face. If Rob had any sponsorsip he'd be at Monaco this weekend.
